"Prior to July 24, 2014 my only connection was dropping off my son and his friends for basketball. I liked the idea of the police department connected because it made me feel like my son and his friends were safe. On July 24, with what little funds I had available, I decided to take a group of kids to the pool. We anxioulsy arrived, paid, walked through the restroom to the pool and the lifeguard closed the pool. He explained that it thundered and he needed to clear the pool. This is clearly understandable for safety issues. What upset me was I paid $11.00 for 30 seconds. The lady at the desk explained that there would be no refunds. I was appalled to think that because there was a sign in the lobby I should have somehow known that within 30 seconds of my arrival that a higher being would send thunder. There should be some type of compensation for such a small thing. Maybe a pass for another day or 1/2 off next time something anything other than "Oh well, lady we have a sign that says no refunds. I am sorry i did not check with the weather man, and prayed to God. I simply wanted to take some children whose parents had no time to take them, swimming. It should be someway even if the lifeguard can call inside and say, it looks like rain or i hear thunder so you may not want to accept any money at this time for the pool. Anything would have been better than the "your just out of $11.00 that I got. Nothing should be so black and white. Thank you Janice V. Newsome"
