"A nice hike up to the lower falls. Don't miss the blue hole on the way. Many opportunities to walk the river rocks, though the lower river bed was dry when we were there late August. The incline is slow and the path well groomed until the last stretch where it gets a little challenging. Rocks and roots plus a pant-inducing incline for this out of shape old woman. But keep with it, rest and go again! The Hemlock Falls that are at the top are ok- a mere shadow of what they once were (you can see where they used to fall from the entire width of the ledge, but now only about 20%). Buy the hike is a good trip up and back that took us about 4.5 hours to do at a very slow pace."

"If you're not an experienced hiker this trail is very hard. I do a lot of hiking, but a lot of my local trails are pretty flat. Took me about 2hrs to get to the top. I had to take multiple breaks in the way up. There are restrooms at the top of the trail. If you intend to hike the whole trail, I recommend starting at the bottom, so that you have the most energy going up, and when you're tired out, it'll make the coming back down easy and quick. This trail does not loop, it is a straight 1- way stretch, so pay attention to the fact that you'll have to turn around and head back the same exact direction that you came. Bring LOTS of water, and a lunch/snack with you."

"Nice shadded hike. All down hill and flat. Coming back is up hill and lots of steps. It's a work out and you better be in shape if you walk the whole trail. We had a great time enjoying nature and listening to all the birds chirping. We had a great time together."

"This trailhead is at the bottom of the canyon opening and takes you along the canyon floor to the trails that pass Hemlock Falls and Cherokee Falls and climb up to the canyon rim. The landscape and plants change dramatically along this hike. We saw many unique flowers and mushrooms."

"Amazing trail! It runs along a stream of river and beautiful rocks and trees surround it. The waterfall can be accessed from both sides of the trail. The trail is moderate in difficulty. The total distance is about 4 miles from the parking area to the waterfall and back. It's an out and back trail. The elevation gain is decent and the twists and turns keep the trail interestsing. There are changing rooms at the trailhead but no washrooms. Adding a washroom would be nice. I would love to come here again!"
