Zen Steak & Sushi Bar

"Great service from door to table. The hibachi experience was very fun and the cook involved both of our children which made them very happy. They have brought back my favorite, Tonkotsu Ramen! See my picture that accompanies this review. This is a delicious dish! I had himachi sashimi as well which was very good. The wasabi appears to be authentic and full of spicy kick. The fried rice is prepared with a peppery taste which is different but very tasty. All of the hibachi foods that were cooked for the others at our table looked delicious and were prepared with care. Give this place a shot. It was a great experience."

"The seater/server was absolutely amazing. He made this experience so comfortable. He talked with me about all my questions of what I would normally eat at a Chinese restaurant. And turned it into me eating only Japanese from here on out! The salad literally transformed my mood. And I was moody. Thank you guys so much and we will be getting to know each other!!!"

"Food was way over cooked—even the rice. The chef put ginger sauce on EVERYTHING including the steak, rice, chicken, scallops. He put the soy sauce you’d normally put in the food in the bowls that they typically put the ginger in. He didn’t know what rare meant. It was a mess. I’m sure he’s just new and we realize you have to start somewhere, but we were shocked at how bad it was. His morale was there at least. The server never came back to refill our drinks and the place was slow so not really sure what happened there. This is the second time we’ve had a subpar experience so we don’t plan on going back :/"

"We have been at this restaurant several times and it never disappoints . Sushi is the freshest I have had, hibachi portions are super good and the food is delicious. It might be more expensive than other sushi and hibachi places in this area but it is worth it. The staff is also super nice and welcoming."

"For our first time trying Zen, I’ll give it a 5 star review. We came here for date night tonight on a Wednesday night and it was perfectly not crowded. The host greeted us quickly, sat us, and we got our drink orders pretty immediately I ordered an eel roll because when I asked the waiter about the raw sushi rolls that are wrapped in radish/cucumber rather than rice and seaweed he said it was only a special roll? Whatever that means I also ordered shrimp hibachi dinner while my husband ordered the NY strip dinner. We decided to dine in rather than sit around the hibachi area The restaurant was beautiful inside, high ceilings, clean, and modern with bar seating and sushi bar seating When I got the eel roll, the first thing I noticed was how there was barely any eel in there compared to other sushi restaurants I’ve been to (which has been all over the states). But it did taste pretty fresh so next time I’ll dine in just for sushi and will update my review The hibachi dinner was great. It wasn’t super salty like other hibachi restaurants. I felt like my husband’s steak was a bit over cooked but he enjoyed his meal Besides the skimping out on eel, the only problem I had was waiting longer than usual for our hibachi dinner to come out. I was expecting our food to be nice and hot but it was actually partially cold like it was sitting in the back for a bit We were starving so at this point we were scarfing our food down. I will be back for more sushi and to try their noodle dish!"
