"Brandon does great work. Always handled my car with car. Kept it running everytime I broke it. Never had a bad experience with him. Very professional shop."

"Brandon has done everything from installing a standalone, multiple differential swaps, one piece drive shaft install, alignments, full t-belt services w/super dampers, and dyno tuning our sr20det S14 Haltech Elite, single turbo aristo JZS160 AEM V2 & single turbo aristo JCE10. No one else I’d rather do business with or let touch my cars."

"This place is very unprofessional. They left a flashlight in my air box after a supercharger install for my Toyota Tundra. This caused a check engine light and my MAF sensor to fail. When I discovered the issue was a flashlight I reached out to the owner and got a pretty pathetic response and he even tried to make a joke out of it. I tried to get him to rectify his mistake but he won’t even call me back. The last I heard his employee told me he “just got back from vacation and would be coming back to the office at some point”. This was a month ago and I have still not heard back. How pathetic. I ended up doing the repair myself."

"Had a fantastic experience. They were great with the communication side, answered all of my questions, and were cool and helped get me in when the Cobbpocalypse hit. Stand out business and even if I don't personally have something that needs their services, I know who I am recommending."

"Very disappointed with the service, to say the least. My 2015 STI engine seized due to oil loss and was out of warranty, so I wanted to rebuild the engine with some supporting modifications. I took my Subrau here on high recommendation from Topspeed Motorsports. I was initially told by the owner, Brandon, that the car would be build and ready in 3 weeks, then tuned a week later. I bought my new short block online, and it arrived at the shop 2 days after I dropped off the car. I stayed in regular contact, always being told "we are still waiting on parts" or "we will get stuff started next week." I visited the shop exactly 8 weeks later because I kept getting the same response, only to find the car was still in the same place I left it 2 months prior, and none of my parts I had paid for (thousands of dollars) were even around. It was frustrating to say the least, when I could have ordered any of those parts with free 3-5 day shipping anywhere else online. Weeks passed, and I kept getting the same responses. Finally, 10 weeks later, I got a photo of my parts, arranged on the shop floor, however multiple parts were missing. Brandon said they were there, just not all the parts were in the photo. I was finally told that I can pick up the car 14 weeks later (after racking up way more money in rental car fees than I had originally planned based on Brandon's 4-week estimate). The car looked good, and I was happy, even though it took way longer to get back. However, after I took the car home, I found out from the tuner that the car did not even have a proper break-in tune because the engine had issues during tuning due to poor workmanship (crank case hose disconnected during pulls, pre-turbo exhaust leak, dead battery). That was not even the worst part. About 4 days after I had the car (putting gentle, non-turbo miles on it), I lost power steering. Found out my steering rack (previously no issues) was leaking in multiple spots and needed replacement, additionally, there was transmission oil leaking all over the undercarriage due to a destroyed input shaft gasket. The transmission-engine mount had one cross-threaded bolt ( new engine!) and one that was totally missing. PCV return hose was pinched because the intercooler bracket was never installed. I had to pay a separate mechanic over 3k to fix all the issues because I could no longer trust the workmanship from Controlled Motors (see photos). Then, I had to retune the car twice because the shop did not put parts on the car that I had paid them for (fuel pressure sensor, upgraded fuel pump, upgraded clutch). When I contact the shop multiple times to refund the money I paid for those parts, I was always told they will call me back. I am still waiting. All in all, I really wanted to like this shop and recommend them to friends, but sadly cannot. I would have been fine with the longer time for the build if I had at least had a properly tuned and working engine with all the parts I paid for on it. Please be aware that you may not get what you pay for, and the timeframe of your labor may be up to 10 weeks longer than expected."
