Exchange Park

"Turkey giveaway was very unorganized. People who registered name wasn’t listed. They gave out the meals to over 50 people that was helping first. There was a line against the wall no one knowing why the line was formed. Then maybe 10 meals was given out before the man whom was over it to come out and say we not giving out anymore go to the gym. I asked Sr if I am 2nd to the next person to be given a meal and was told to stay here why am I going to the gym and how would you know that I am next in line. He replied go to the gym we will give out Turkeys after the game. I replied it is 4 and the game ends at 7. It is 100’s of unmasked people here and the website does not state that you have to watch the game to get a Turkey yet you just gave out meals a moment ago. He replied very very intimidating rude and aggressive you don’t have to wait to get the Turkey you can leave. I replied Sr with all do respect I will not leave I have registered (which I had to prove to him on my phone) I want my meal and please do not be disrespectful. He says I am in charge and if you not staying for the game you will not get one. I asked him to show me where it says on the app that you must watch a basketball game first where people are not practicing safe distance. It’s over crowded in here and I do not want to watch a 3 hour game. I stood there still lined with the others. And someone else came out with wristbands and said everyone go to the gym if you are not 60 and over. Again no where stated that it’s an event for anyone over 60 yet I understand that elders first. I go to the game sitting next to unmasked strangers and very loud music. I exit the gym to get air. Only for a staff member who was looking for someone else gives it to me and said here you go. And then an apology from the director of it all. Please with all do respect you never know what people are going through in life. Treat people with respect we are all human and in need of help. I do pay my taxes in dekalb county and times are hard for us all. Being kind could change a life and we as African Americans can start with each other."

"A wonderful place to visit for family enjoyment! Exercise, indoor walking, basket ball, vegetable garden that you can plant your own vegetables, books for the kids to have and to share as well, barbeque area!! Very clean and friendly place to go."

"I was kind of hesitant to come at first because of the mixed reviews about the customer service received but I took my chances anyway and I’m glad I did. Xavier was working today. He was very kind and professional. Me and my daughter walked in with no problems and she had an amazing time. There were a few other families playing but it wasn’t over crowded. The bathrooms were clean and fully stocked. The water was a little cold but I mean it’s been nearly 100 degrees this past week and the kids don’t seem to mind the water temp. If the water was warmer I would have gotten in myself as well. The splash pad at exchange park is a great neighborhood spot to stop by and let the little ones enjoy themselves."
