"Once again Getaway cabins didn’t disappoint!! Honestly, I think we stayed in the best cabin “Makilo” which was by the river and luckily the fire ban had been lifted a few wks before so we got to enjoy a cozy fire by the river and look at the stars. Definitely a beautiful romantic weekend!!"

"The cabin was clean and well-stocked with necessities, which was great. However, it was disappointing that we couldn't light a fire in the fire pit because a burn ban was in effect. It seems like this restriction isn't just for a few days but lasts throughout the late fall to winter every year. It would be helpful to inform customers about this on the website so they can plan ahead when making reservations. Also, be cautious of pests like mosquitoes and mice."

"I have my reasons for 3 stars, I really hate that I have to rate so low but the ads, social media, and website really ruined our expectations. The photo attached is the “river view” cabin we paid extra for. The cabin we were given was named the Lydia. This is NOTHING like the website, only 1 cabin of the 3 river cabins have that “perfect” view of the river. That cabin is the Makilo by the way, so if you book a river view and it’s not that one, here’s your view. Also, I think my partner and I can take partial blame for not researching burn bans, but it would’ve been nice if Getaway informed us prior to arrival and we would’ve accommodated to the change easier. The fridge smelled really bad and should be cleaned out. Also the cabins are VERY close and there’s not really a sense of privacy that you’d expect. Cell service is spotty which I can’t complain because I didn’t need my phone. It was super quiet, occasional dog barking but no complaints. Overall, I was really excited about this place and can’t believe how disappointed I was, especially when extra money was paid. I do like that the other reviewers had a great experience unlike my partner and I."

"They should’ve informed us that there was a fire ban going on, we were really looking forward to using the fire pit. Also we paid extra to have a river view cabin and we basically couldn’t see the river due to the trees. Only ONE cabin has the river view that’s shown on the website, the others don’t so beware when booking. They also need to separate cabins for those with pets because our cabin smelled exactly like a dog and the fridge could use a baking soda cleanse. Beds are firm and the shower lasts only 5 minutes. Also this place is money-hungry, lots of $500 fees for violations so make sure you read! My partner helped the trip be worthwhile but we won’t be coming back again."

"Tried Getaway for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed!!! We enjoyed the tiny cabin experience. It was stocked with everything you need to cook a good meal..you just bring the ingredients..We had a cabin with a little view of the Coosa River and it was so relaxing and rejuvenating..We thought not a having a TV was a total bust but nah!! We played a couples connect game that was left for us..made s’mores and I even cooked outside over the campfire for the 1st time in my life!! Lovely experience!!"
