"Very poor communication. I asked to pick up myself had an appointment to pick it up at 12pm friday 11/3/2023. Was emailing me up until 11.33am that day. She said she was Getting ready to leave because she had an appointment at 1230pm. At 12.15pm She still was not there. And I had to leave to go to another appointment which I also told her. I dropped myself off to her on march twenty seventh at noon. She made up a bunch of excuses on why it wasn't done in her staff quit. And then she went on a vacation sept 9 for almost a month which she guaranteed my taxes would be done prior to that. Now I get no response on when I can go and pick up my original documents."

"The only reason there is even 1 star on this review is because you have to indicate a star rating in order to leave a written review. I wanted to leave a review to hopefully save someone else from the disastrous experience we have had with A Tax Shelter, Tarah and her staff. Save yourself stress, frustration and time and DO NOT hire A Tax Shelter Bradenton for bookkeeping or tax services. We disengaged from Tarah and A Tax Shelter just recently but we should have done so long before. Despite submitting our tax documents back in Feb 2023 by June 2023 our 2022 taxes were still not finished / filed and Tarah has also failed to properly or timely file our business taxes resulting in numerous letters and tax fines. Tarah talks a good talk about how she will get the fines waived but she does not follow through with anything she says. And at the time of leaving this review we are STILL waiting for Tarah to provide us with our past years files despite promising we could stop by and pick up weeks ago. We tried to give Tarah the benefit of doubt since we have been long time clients but it was incredibly clear that this company started failing in 2021 and is no longer reliable and since then A Tax Shelter has gone from bad to worse. Besides being rude and on the verge of hostile (Tarah actually screamed at me and hung up on me the last time I spoke to her because I asked her to give me a timeline of when our 2022 taxes would be finished!!). Tarah and her staff rarely answer calls, emails or text messages. Your taxes will NOT be filed on time or filed correctly and there are added fines from the IRS that you are stuck to pay. We received a $3500 IRS fine due to the incorrect filing of the 2021 child tax credit by A Tax Shelter. I cannot warn you enough to take your business to a company that has standards and cares about their clients. I am not sure how A Tax Shelter still has clients or is still in business. Take this review seriously and take your business somewhere else. We hired a new accountant and are amazed at the level of service and communication when compared to Tarah and her staff. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from A Tax Shelter Bradenton."

"Awful communication, files taxes late, overcharges, and the entire staff is incompetent. If you are looking for a diligent tax firm, look elsewhere. I have had my taxes done with Tarah since 2017, but this past year was an absolute horror. Her staff does not know how to handle anything, they pretty much refer you to Tarah who never responds to your inquiries. I was fortunate enough to get my taxes filed on time, but my other family members have not. My mom doesn’t utilize computers so she has tried several times to contact Tarah, who never calls her, but charges her for services without explaining the reason and then not filing on time. Her priority is not individual clients so beware of that, satisfaction is not a guarantee with this business."

"I’ve been doing my taxes with Tarah and her awesome staff for over 10 years now and I’ve never had a problem with anything. I value customer service over anything period and always get great service from them. No only does my entire family use her services I’ve also recommended her to my friends, acquaintances and anyone else I genuinely trust bc I know they’ll be taken care of ……Very personable very professional please don’t hesitate to use A Tax Shelter Inc ……god bless"

"My husband and I started filing taxes with Tarah back in 2015. Other than filing super close to tax day in 2022 (but ultimately on time), we have never had any issues with A Tax Shelter...until this year... We submitted our paperwork back in mid-February and understood it would be a while before our file was "opened" and reviewed. Not a problem. Our file was opened on March 16th and on the same day - someone in the office advised we would hear from Tarah "very soon." Two weeks later, on March 30th, no progress had been made on our file, so I reached back out and was told I would hear from Tarah in the next couple of days. Again - not a problem. Fast forward a week before tax day (the week of April 10th), I have still not heard from Tarah and the office is still saying I will hear from her "soon" (mind you - I called, and they said they would follow up and I had to follow up with them for this update). I asked what "soon" meant (which seemed fair since they had been stringing me along for weeks) and then they stopped responding altogether. I ended up scheduling an appointment with another office this past weekend because I had no confidence that Tarah or her team would file in on time. On top of all this, most interactions with the office staff were unpleasant (they were either very short or rude or both). Our experience this year was absolutely ridiculous and the behavior shown by Tarah and her team was inexcusable. We had been loyal clients for going on 8 years and this is how we were treated... (also note that I sent a message advising that we no longer need their services and they have not responded to that either). The moral of the story - if you want to have peace of mind about your taxes and want to work with a great team - A Tax Shelter is not the place to go. We will be conducting our business elsewhere now and in the future."
