The Villas of Amelia Island

"This review is for the Captain's Court Villas. From the outside, the villas look quite dated and in need of renovation. However, the unit we stayed in was quite updated on the interior and had a beautiful view of the dunes and the beach. There was plenty of space and it felt like an apartment/home. It was rather cold when we visited (40s/50s), and the downstairs of the unit got noticeably colder than upstairs, making it somewhat uncomfortable."

"We had a fantastic experience. The property offers a variety of restaurants and activities for the guests to enjoy. The service from staff is wonderful, all within a text away. Also with shutter service from the villas to the resort, restaurants, amenities, etc. I highly recommend Omni at Amelia Island."

"Our condo was beachfront and lower unit. Ok views. Very tired unit. Not what I would have expected. We booked through a travel agent, and there were no photos. I won't do that again."

"The property was beautiful. However, the sandcastle villas are in serious need of repair. In their current state of disrepair, the nightly rate is too high. There were mold/mildew issues, pest control problems, and some overall hazardous conditions such as loose floor tiles. We would stay on property again, but not this particular building without significant renovation. Also, Falcon's Nest was horrible. The staff wasn't responsive to our presence or our needs. We were seated outside with aggressive squirrels that literally jumped on the table. We picked up what we could and came inside. We asked to be assigned a table but the staff left us standing with our trays as the squirrels ate what we couldn't carry. We eventually sat at a vacant table on our own and were made to feel as though we disrupted the table assignments despite the fact that no one was waiting to be seated and there were multiple empty tables. Couples seated near us offered to help us retrieve the rest of our meal, but it was too late. The restaurant was out of cornbread and offered no substitute or discount. We asked for togo boxes because we were so uncomfortable finishing our meal on site, but were instead given our bill. We way over paid for what we recieved and will never return to this establishment. If you stay here, dine anywhere else."

"Our stay at the Villas on Amelia Island. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate my experience with this resort a 1. As soon as we arrived, we received a parking pass that expired the same day. Next, the management needs to explain to the staff at the front desk how & what to tell the clients. We were given a bracelet to wear for our entire stay, but was not told what it was for. Just that we MUST wear it during our stay. There were not enough parking spaces for handicapped people. The bed was worn out. The television was broke. It took over a half an hour to get a response from management regarding. It still was not fixed by the time we left. The freezer was full of ice and was unable to be used. The screen to the patio was old and ready to break. The towels had black spots on them. The floor was dirty. The rug was rolled up & left in the closet. I even had to set the clock. Overall, the furniture in room 6312 is old and needs to be replaced and the room remodeled before renting it out again. After explaining the situation to the lady at the front desk upon leaving, she credited us the resort fee of $44.80 and gave my wife & I a voucher for breakfast. So, I decided to give the resort a 1 on the scale for her trying to give us some credit for the poor experience. Although, my wife & I will NEVER return! We will tell our family & friends about this experience. I will explain to them it was worse than staying at a 6 motel and paid 10 times the cost."
