"We pre-ordered around noon two taxis for 4:30PM for a group of 9 people travelling to a wedding with a 5PM start. Naturally, to be cautious, we called them at 4:15PM to check if they are on the way. We were told that yes, they're dispatching the two vehicles - a minivan and a car. Obviously, nothing showed up at 4:30PM. They called us back at 4:37PM, saying the minivan will be there shortly, but they have no cars. They suggested that the minivan could do two roundtrips, even though the trip was 15mins one way, therefore telling us that half the group will arrive 20mins late to the wedding. Naturally, they offered no solution, making the concept of reservations and pre-ordering a completely pointless exercise. But the story gets better. When the minivan arrived, we were told to not use one of the doors since it was broken. Everyone got in from the other side. When the driver went to close the door - the whole door popped out of its hinges. The driver, who put a good effort to try to fix it, ended up simply removing the whole door of the minivan. Obviously, the minivan couldn't go. So New Paltz Taxi not only didn't send vehicles on time, it didn't send what it promised and then sent a completely broken car, which probably isn't road worthy. Overall, if you want an experience that feels like you're in a slap-stick comedy, then New Paltz Taxi delivers. If you want to be transported somewhere on time, look elsewhere."

"We called during a Wednesday afternoon, not a terribly busy time of day (around 12:30 ish), and the driver came quick! The driver was friendly and nice and we reached back home pronto. If you need a local ride and get back home in the New Paltz area quick from Main Street, this is the taxi ride to go to. I wish I got the driver’s name, he was really friendly to chat with and is a local!"
