"Absolutely awful experience during my one year lease here. For the entirety of the one year I lived there, cockroaches swarmed my kitchen, day & night, despite being extremely clean tenants. They hired bootleg exterminators so people couldn’t sue/break their lease but the exterminators did nothing. Management is not reachable, ever, for any reason. I was auto charged rent after my lease ended and I moved out and I’ll be shocked if I get it refunded or get my security back in a timely manner, if I get it back at all. Avoid, avoid, avoid this place at all costs."

"I recently moved to Whit lock mills and the experience so far has been extraordinary. I came from Florida and the leasing staff was very quick and helpful to get everything approved and ready for me. Tasha is the property manager and she is very hands on and always willing to help and listen. That’s something rare these days. Even maintenance is great, responding quick and making sure the property is kept clean. The location is also great. Highly recommended!"

"Renters beware! If you think the 1 star ratings here are one-offs or anomalies, check out the 1.7 review rating for RPM Development Group, the Management company, on Google. You may luck out and end up in a unit with no issues, I however am on apartment #2. I  moved into the so called "Luxury" Apartment building July 2021. Thus far, my 2.5 month stay at Whitlock while paying $2K+ per month, has included an apartment with daily millipede infestations, a dishwasher that tipped over after the 2nd use, water leaks through brick walls, soft crumbling walls, a relocation to a unit on a higher floor, followed by more millipedes, an unstable floor with gaps, bubbles and concaved sections, flooring installed over a bolt which I stepped on and more water leaks and/or mold. Service is subpar and doesn't remotely come close to what it should be for the rent and location. Corners have been cut wherever possible. Workmanship is shotty, haphazard and dangerous. Management becomes unresponsive if posed with too many questions regarding repairs and requests for resolution or simply says,  "Well, it's an old building". Due to lack of timely repairs, I was forced to contact the city. Subsequent inspections of my unit by the Health Department as well as the Office of Code Compliance resulted in violations. The "co-working" space is practically unusable because it is stifling hot due inadequate ventilation. Flat paint was used in bathrooms and building common areas including hallways so there are already scuff marks everywhere. Finding packages is like playing hide and seek, as packages are left all over the 1st floor, and there is no actual mailroom, just a mailbox location. Food, grocery and car services can never find the building due to incorrect and inadequate property signage.  Enjoying the lawn during the day is out of the question because it is usually muddy due to constant over watering. The gates on the property for "controlled access" , have been broken more than they have worked.  People I've spoken directly to, in affordable housing units, have stated their individual experiences and treatment have been similar if not worse. I have now injured my other foot from walking on unstable flooring. What could and should have been an awesome apartment and pleasant experience  has turned into a hellish nightmare, for the 2nd time in 2.5 months.  Putting lipstick on a pig, still makes it a pig. Don't be fooled and good luck!"
