"We were camping around the corner at Seneca CC, when we decided to look around and see what else there was and we found these camp sites. I love that they have a shelter and the porta potty right there. We stayed for labor day weekend and it was busy but because the sites are back a bit it was pretty quiet. We hiked rocks and all around there are trails everywhere you look. This is a must stay for free camping."
"We were hoping to go to Allegheny from a stay at Holiday valley but it was raining so we settled for this place. But wholly mholly this was not settling. The rock formations you can explore are amazing. We felt like it was another planet and a secret gem in this area."
"A great time today, such a cool spot! A little know area north of Salamanca and south of Ellicottville. Large stones and narrow pathways. A great family adventure or go for the day... Walk carefully on the edges of the stone, as it is a bite of a drop. Also wear boots or shoes that you don't mind getting dirty... Except to spend an hour or two climbing, hiking, and crawling... If you dare... LOL."
"The Rock City State Forest Park is surrounded with rock formations that are large rocks with narrow pathways. The shortest hiking trail was 16 minutes (0.7miles). It's a great place for birding and hiking but you can also enjoy solitude."
"An amazing experience. The trail marked with white paint was about a mile long and manageable for my young children (our youngest is 4). There were so many exciting crevices, tunnels, and overhangs to explore. We could have spent hours just on that trail climbing and exploring. The road to the parking loop isn't maintained from November to early Spring. We went mid November and the drive was bumpy and slow. There were no restrooms of any kind. There were a few picnic tables under cover near the parking loop. This was an absolutely amazing day trip of hiking and exploring! The rim trail, further down the road, gives you some amazing views of the forest from the top of some rocks. It wasn't a hard hike, but was quite muddy and slippery after a rain."
