"I wanted a nice white wine for my chicken stew. I never know what to buy. The sales girl was really helpful and helped me choose a nice...I think it was a Chardonnay. Not being an oenophile, I opened it (not in the store), poured a small amount in a wine glass, actually, I think it was plastic. Didn't bother doing the swirl and sniff, just took a sip. Niiice! It had a little sweetness I wasn't sure would work in my chicken stew, but I was using a medium sherry as well. Is that usually done, using two different wines in one dish? Well I reduced them down by 3/4. It was perfect. I'd use that combination for clam sauce. I think it would work. The stew turned out great!"
