"I don't usually take time to do a review like this because it's situational and isolated, but when my 76 year old, widowed mom calls me crying because she's so upset and angry I can't be objective. My family has lived in Hicksville for over 40 years and we have been frequenting that shopping center for that long. We used to shop that supermarket when it was Trunz. That being said my mom went in there last week on either Thursday or Friday with my niece and nephew to get them some snacks and herself dinner for the evening. She went to the deli counter and a young man rang a bell to get the attention of the deli clerk that they had a customer. Out walked a young Hispanic male with dark curly hair and he said, "Can I help you sir?" He was polite at least and my mom got hurt, but she was just gonna move on l. Yes she has short hair, but she was dressed as a typical senior citizen female. She replied with a curt, "I am a woman." To which the young man proceeds to laugh in her face and kept laughing. She was devastated. She walked away, purchased some milk, left the store with my niece and nephew and proceeded to cry in her car. She calmed down, collected herself, and went home. She told my sisters and one of them called and complained to the manager on duty. He was all apologies and said he would look into it. Whether he does or not, I really don't care because my family is no longer going to be going to Key Food again. Maybe that's harsh or an overreaction, but all we can do is withhold our business and hope that they are more aware of the caliber of people they hire in the future."

"I encountered a concerning situation with a purchase on 11/14/23 from Keyfood. I ordered 1 lb of Virginia ham (Keyfood brand) specifically requesting a paper-thin cut. Upon returning home, I discovered the ham was not only excessively thick but also displayed a rough texture and signs of rot. Regrettably, I did not observe the cutting process as I was attending to other items. Upon addressing the issue with the manager, Shai, he adamantly insisted that the ham was fresh, displaying an unapologetic, assertive, and sarcastic attitude, and even expressed that I was being problematic. This incident adds to a history of problems with this Keyfood, including past instances of overcharging customers compared to advertised prices. I recommend avoiding this store. "HOW... did this store last so long! Store's can only remain open if we support them! Extremely "OVER PRICED"! It's worth going in either direction Walmart or Target,carries most of the same items for lower price."

"I just moved into the area. This Key Food is close by, has everything I need and reasonably priced. The staff is kind and helpful. I'm only giving 4 stars because produce is hit or miss."

"Local store well stocked, great Bob's Red Mill selection. Plenty of fruit and veg. Meat and poultry section good variety of products. Great parking lot, and right off main road. Deli meat and appetizers are fresh delicious."
