"As an OTR team driver for MRT, this is what I have experienced. I work with the company on a weekly basis. A typical day at work while traveling to the west coast is okay. Concerning the backhaul. Dealing with 2-5 pick-ups is the start of your stressful day. Furthermore, the pick ups are spaced out by 2-4 hours. Arriving before the shipper closes means you'll have to wait for a long time between pickups. Management recognizes that you have multiple pick-ups in California. The driver will speed through California to reach the pick-up location to avoid waiting 8-9 hours for shippers to open the next morning. Management will not reimburse you for detention/layover pay if you don't check in before shippers close. Drivers are required to wait 4-6 hours for loading before any detention pay kicks in, even if they check in. Waiting for the pick up is the most challenging part of the job. Understand that people will say this is trucking. We are compensated for our mileage, not our sitting. Considering that there are 2-4 pick-ups. It's not uncommon for each pickup to take 4-6 hours to load you. If you arrive late for your next pickup. Your home time will be delayed as Shippers require you to reschedule your appointment! There are drivers who will praise their pay and equipment as good! You, the driver, are the source of it all! We are the ones who are struggling with being away from our loved ones, waiting at the shipper, and going to multiple pick-up locations! Some drivers live close by the terminal, of course, 34 hours reset still is considered a good home time. Drivers who live hours away from the terminal that 34 resets feel like sleeping at home and coming back out again!"

"My advice would be, unless it’s the last resort steer clear of this company. It was Great 14 years ago in my husband first started working for the company. But when certain people left, and Pete stepped away from the company, it took a nose Dive. They used to care about their drivers, now they talk about them behind their back. The dispatchers are rude and sit there and make fun of the drivers after being nice to their face. There’s a young kid barely out of high school running the company That’s probably never been in a truck. One thing I think a lot of drivers will agree with is that if you’re gonna run a company you need to at least have some experience behind the wheel for at least a couple years to see what it’s like. They have on there, Facebook page and their website that they care about their drivers and their families. This is very much not true. Especially if you have a Family All I can say is save yourself now and run away. Bottomly enterprises is one of the best trucking companies around now And they do care about you and your family if you want to work for a real trucking company go work for them."
