About the Business

Hudson River Museum

The Hudson River Museum, located at 511 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers, New York, is a popular tourist attraction and museum. One of its main features is Glenview, a historic Gilded Age home designed by architect Charles W. Clinton in 1877. The museum also boasts a Planetarium that offers shows on topics ranging from the mysteries of the moon to the search for life beyond Earth.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of special programs at the museum, including planetarium shows, tarot card readings, typewriter poetry, and music by DJ Lulu Lewis. The museum has received generous support from the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.

On Sunday, April 7 and Monday, April 8, guests can participate in special events at the museum, including an in-person talk with former NASA astronaut Ron Garan. Co-curators Karintha Lowe and Christopher Fosina will lead a tour of the Meet Me at the River exhibit, with commentary by Kevin Horbatiuk from the Yonkers Paddle and Rowing Club.

The museum is a must-visit destination for those interested in art, history, and science. For more information, visit their website or contact them at (914) 963-4550.

"Awesome museum and planetarium. A must see if you are in the Hudson Valley. Easy access, terrific exhibits, superb show in the planetarium geared towards children yet engaging for all ages. We will be back again. Highly recommend."

"The museum is free through the Library but you have to pay for the planetarium. The museum is very small. The planetarium is small and the seats are not very comfortable. It is informative but could be more interesting. Some activities are set for kids to explore for free. Overall if you are looking for a slow and relaxed afternoon you can go here."

"Really great special exhibitions, and I’ll definitely be back to visit the Glenview house. Perched over the river, there’s a lovely little garden and two large gallery spaces to explore. Empty on a weekday afternoon in summer."

"Lovely local museum. We went on a family fun day, my kids enjoyed the various art with recycled materials. They especially loved the current exhibition with hula hoops. Will return to try a planetarium show and walk the grounds."

"Gorgeous museum with something for everyone. There are oil paintings, modern art, historical pieces and several kid-friendly sections including a planetarium. A lovely, grassy courtyard with some chairs is a great spot to get some fresh air and eat food you brought. There's no cafe on site, though some snacks and drinks are sold in the gift shop. There are also tours of the antique mansion next door to the main museum building. Can't recommend this place enough."
