"Attended the Gun Show which was pretty crowded. Thanks to new overly stringent laws for purchasing ammunition, there were terrible long lines for NICS checks. Still I think the vendors did well. Lots of other cool things to look at there."

"The Hamburg Fairgrounds, located in Hamburg, New York, is a versatile facility known for hosting a variety of events throughout the year. Here are some key aspects of the Hamburg Fairgrounds: Erie County Fair: The Hamburg Fairgrounds is perhaps best known for hosting the Erie County Fair, one of the largest county fairs in the United States. The fair typically takes place in August and features a wide range of attractions, including agricultural exhibits, amusement rides, live entertainment, food vendors, and more. Facilities and Venues: The fairgrounds encompass a large area and include multiple facilities such as the Event Center, the Showplex, the Grandstand, and various other buildings and outdoor areas that can be used for events. Year-Round Events: Beyond the Erie County Fair, the Hamburg Fairgrounds hosts various events throughout the year, including trade shows, expos, concerts, festivals, and sporting events. This makes it a central hub for community gatherings and entertainment in the area. Agricultural and Educational Focus: Being fairgrounds, there's a strong focus on agriculture, with events often showcasing livestock, gardening, and farming techniques. Educational programs and competitions for youth, like 4-H events, are also a staple. History and Community Impact: The fairgrounds have a rich history, deeply intertwined with the local community. Over the years, it has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community while maintaining its traditional charm. Accessibility and Location: Located conveniently in Hamburg, the fairgrounds are accessible to residents of the Buffalo metropolitan area and visitors from other regions. "Hey guys, I don't know much about this place I'm not from here! This was a meeting destination to get a ride to the stadium for work. It was a nice paved parking lot. And we didn't have any issues getting to our bus. Look pretty clean and kept up."

"Great atmosphere to spend a day with friends and family, with plenty of food vendors to choose from, and tons of rides to satisfy anyone's adventurous side. I have been coming to this fair for the past 38 years and it never gets boring!"

"We primarily come to the fairgrounds for the Erie County Fair, but have been for other events like the Festival of Lights and homeshows. While I understand that the gambling aspect helps keep revenue coming in all year round, I don't gamble so I really can't comment on the quality of that aspect of the fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are pretty easy to get to, and a lot of traffic improvements in the local area mean that traffic flow out after a big event is far better than it was even 5 years ago. While I miss some of the permanent structures that have recently been taken down, I understand that the removals will leave space for buildings that will be more accessible and better planned out for the long view. I really like the investment in the newer agriculture buildings, which are better for the animals, and for allowing the public to see them up close during events."
