Escape the Mystery Room

"We walked through the mall and passed several amazingly laid out escape room places. Then we finally found this place and it looked like an old hollowed out office with partition walls. Not impressive at all on the outside. My wife made an online reservation here for two adults and two children (approx 70 bucks). When we got there we were told we had to pay another 30 something bucks bc my son was 8. At which point I decided we should not spend a hundred bucks on this very unimpressive place and go to the trampoline park or another place the kids might actually have fun. Unfortunately, the attendant lady promptly informed us they would not refund us even if we didn't go in (which is ridiculous). So, rather than waste seventy bucks, we actually paid the extra 30 something and went in. I thought maybe it looks this bad only on the outside. Nope! We were walked into a room that was "pirate themed" and by that I mean a bare room with a few barrels, a few locked chests and two of the cheapest Halloween skeleton decorations I have ever seen. Now, I will pause here because the kid that took us in really tried to do a good job and was very nice. I wish I got his name but I can't remember. So my wife, my two small kids, and I are now stuck in this cheaply decorated disaster solving clues to open a variety of locks, etc etc. Fine...whatever. They are not enthused...we are not enthused...but we did try to make the best of it. We solved the thing, the kid attendant was trying to inspire energy but honestly none of us were feeling it due to how cheap and silly it was. Was it worth 100 bucks? Not at all. Should I have told the rude lady to get the manager and demand our money back? Yes absolutely! Were we all disappointed? Yup To anyone reading this, save your money. There are amazing looking places right upstairs and if a company won't refund you for changing your mind even before you check in, there is usually a reason. Avoid places like this as I am sure they will soon be out of business."

"It was fun and an interactive experience for all members of your party. We enjoyed it a lot. We finished the main quest with 20 minutes to work on the master challenge. Price seems a little high for the overall experience. You’re in one room like a cubicle set-up of rooms and you can hear other groups in the next room."
