"Attended a full house matinee today to see LADY DAY at Emerson's BAR and GRILL. Although I know the story of Billy Holiday, the travesty of her early childhood and tragedy of her adult life, it's her voice and personal emotions expertly woven together by Nedra Snipes that held me enthralled. The sparse but effective staging made for an intimate experience. The accompanying piano and bass were skillfully handled by Gary Mitchell, Jr. and DeVaughn Jackson, respectively. I highly recommend this program!"
