About the Business

Rochester Phoenix Martial Arts

Rochester Phoenix Martial Arts, located at 563 Titus Avenue in Rochester, New York, offers a variety of martial arts programs for adults, teens, and kids. The institution was founded in 2014 by a husband and wife team who are passionate about sharing their love for martial arts with the community. At RPMA, the focus is on the individual student, with a strong emphasis on creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all members.

In addition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Karate, and self-defense classes, RPMA also offers free No-Gi BJJ classes for military and first responders every Friday evening. Students are encouraged to attend as many classes as they like, with no additional fees for participating in multiple programs. The institution emphasizes accountability and responsibility, and asks that members communicate in advance if they are unable to attend class for an extended period.

Specific uniform requirements apply to certain programs, such as Judo and Adult BJJ, but the institution is happy to assist with any questions about appropriate attire. RPMA stresses the importance of hard work and respect in martial arts training, and reserves the right to terminate memberships in cases of disruptive behavior.

For military and first responders, RPMA offers a complimentary BJJ class, but all students are reminded to provide payment before attending any scheduled sessions and to notify the institution in advance of any scheduling conflicts. Join the RPMA family and start your martial arts journey today!

"Leigh and Brennan have worked really hard to make a family oriented martial arts school that also does serious martial arts training. The variety of programs their instructors provide is amazing, and the variety of classes makes it easy to find time to improve your skills, to learn new skills, and to stay healthy! I haven't seen a school quite like this in the other cities I've lived in."

"This isn't just a dojo, it's a family. Brennan must have been a saint in a past life. His patience with the little ones is astonishing. He was made for this. Leigh is so sweet, and kind, and friendly. She doesn't treat you like a costumer, she treats you like a friend. We couldn't be happier."

"Very welcoming school. I attended an open mat recently. As a long-time martial artist, I was happy to see Brennan, Leigh, Jarrett, and everyone were welcoming and accommodating. Lots of different skill levels, and everyone worked to your ability level. I highly recommend checking them out."

"Brennan, Leigh and their team are great - fighting with style. My son went to train when he was 6 years and I had a few training sessions before we moved. I can only recommend the team at Phoenix. They really care about their clients and they live what they teach."

"Brennan and Leigh welcomed me while I was visiting Rochester. I was able to attend a few of their BJJ classes. It was great instruction with a combination of self defense and BJJ techniques. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and I learned a lot."
