"Decided to pick the one day birthing class due to our busy schedules and how I was feeling while pregnant. Picked my hospital based on information learned at said class (like pain management options) only to find out when my water broke that the gas wasn’t available and hasn’t been since before Covid. My doula was sick at the time of my water breaking. It got intense fast and I ended up not having a doula there due to communication getting impossible while in labor. All together not impressed. I felt prepared and in reality I wasn’t. Due to this experience, make sure you fact check with your hospital beforehand and have a plan in place if communication becomes impossible in labor. Otherwise you’ll be out money for what feels like no reason."
