"1st trip to the ER at ST Josephs Hospital in Bethpage. From the moment we walked in, the staff was courteous, friendly, caring, and professional. We were taken to an exam room in minutes. The nurse was thorough in questioning our current condition as well as prior conditions. Not speaking in the third party, both of us had covid. The Doctor came in, asked more probing questions, and ordered blood work and chest x-rays. The doctor and the nurse came back twice to explain the test results, administered meds, sent scripts to our pharmacy, and would not leave until they were sure that we fully understood what to expect, what to look out for, and assure us that all would be well. I would highly recommend St Josephs to any friend family and loved ones."

"This hospital is a nitemare, I would never go to this place again. There charging my daughter over $5000 for a surgery the doctor cancelled. And all they do is talk in circles. Stay away from there! Surgery was supposed to be at noon, at 12:20 cancelled. Charging me extra 20 minutes in room, then didn't let me leave hospital till 10:30pm. UPDATE, because they cancelled my daughter had to go to another hospital 2/3 and have emergency gallbladder surgery, got infected, because they left her like that!"

"I’ve been to the ER twice and was admitted both times. The triage was very quick and I waited less than 5 minutes to get sent into the ER. In the ER I was given a bed in a room but it seems to depend how crowded they are because later on when they it got crowded there weee people on stretchers in the hallways. It didn’t seem bad but but keep that in mind. Seems the later you get there the more crowded it gets but nothing like I’ve experienced in other hospitals. The Drs and Nurses in the ER were very caring,, knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly. I spent 4 hours in the ER the first time before being given a room and about 3 hours the second time. The reason for the wait was because they were waiting test results to determine which area of the hospital to send me. They seem to have a few key on staff Drs that are there to treat you day-to-day then have many outside specialty Drs that are on call and come in as needed. I actually would up finding a few very good Drs this way that I still see to this day. They seem to be really ramping up their cardiology area and I was very impressed with the level of care I received there. The nurses also are fantastic and are very experienced and not just out of school like some hospitals use. Another thing I noticed is that everyone that works there seems to get along very well and are genuinely happy. Both times I noticed this and it was very refreshing to see. I’ve been to the ER at another big name hospital and had to wait over 24 hours to get admitted , sat on stretcher in a very crowed ER and many of the Drs and nurses seem to be right out of school. This is how I found out about St Joseph’s actually because the other hospital misdiagnosed me and I went to St Joes to get another opinion which turned out to be the correct diagnosis and saved an amputation This is a community based hospital but gives very specialized and compassionate care. I would not hesitate going back at all . My only complaint is that the rooms are kind of on the small side. It’s not uncomfortable and I was told they may be expanding the room sizes soon. Not every every section had small rooms but the B section I was in did."

"No one says anything nice when they are having the worst moment and they think it’s not going their way. I came in with my father-in-law, and I can’t deny the fact that there was a long wait, but they were busy. When made it inside they were excellent. The doctors were excellent. The nurses were excellent. The care was excellent. I’ve worked in the customer service industry for a long time. I know what it honestly looks like when people don’t do their job and I also know what it looks like when they do a great job A++."

"In addition to my other review the express care had about 1 nurse every 25 minutes wLk in. No staff on site no emergency button to even ask for help or emergency button in the bathroom this place is an actual joke for a hospital. I was ordered to stay over night due to the fact i was getting antibiotics in my IV fluid and give another round in the morning. In addition i had to be disconnected from my iv do to my stomach problems multiple times and then hooked back up… there was only one single time a nurse cleaned off the iv before rehooking me up to it. There was also a strange instrument just left on my bed i will add a picture below. My family had stayed with me waiting until the doctor who was seeing me to tell me there was a room so i can stay the night, hours went by and the man proceeded to say “that there was no rooms upstairs that i would be staying where i was in the express care which i was okay with doing.” My family had left and my boyfriend had left at 11 o clock… In the middle of the night at 12:17 and nurse came to me and said they where moving me to the er since “the express care was closing”. He wheeled me to the er and put me in the middle of the floor, no curtains no nothing just a bed in the middle of the emergency room surrounded by elderly who looked like they were basically already dead. Never NEVER in a million years would my family had left me alone there if they knew i wasn’t staying where the staff told them i was. I immediately requested to be discharged. I basically was exposed to probably numerous amounts of illnesses for no reason if anyone knew that the express care closes at 12 am and i would be sleeping in the middle of the ER infront of the desk I would have never agreed to stay over night. I am completely traumatized by this experience. I wish i had the pictures of where they put me in the hall bed, and extremely sloppy IV photo below as well"
