Cassadaga Job Corps Academy

"Students and residential staff alike at this center have expressed similar concerns with regard to health and safety, this is mainly due to the incompetency of a majority of the staff. The action principles include communication, and they are not aligned to what they promote, Cassadaga Job Corps Academy is barely meeting basic necessities and requirements of life, worse than that of a prison. Some directors and most students have no sense of personal hygiene putting the health of others who are trying their best at risk. This can be extremely dangerous due to what may result from one student falling ill. This includes bloodborne and airborne illnesses, students may also become unwell following contact with body fluids if they have an open wound. Most of the population on campus have complained about gas issues following consumption of the food in the cafeteria and that tends to be ignored as well despite suggestions for changes. This center plays a facade that things are changing for the better and it's getting worse as the hours go by. Cassadaga is a horrible center all around. As a user had mentioned in a previous review, staff will take what they have going on at home and bring it to the workplace, and they are supposed to set an example for the future workforce. This is extremely unprofessional, they will often blame students for their wrongdoings. This center needs to be shut down as soon as possible and meets the criteria for an immediate investigation."

"It’s definitely a good opportunity to get a trade & your GED but, the staff members are the ones who ruin the experience because they tend to target students and bring w.e issues they have going on at outside the center & take it out on their students just because they have the authority to do so. Nobody in an authority position advocates for the students and that includes the counselors. They all just cover each other & gang up."

"I just graduated job corps yesterday. It was the worst experience of my life. I was there for 6 months. I graduated in security. The security teacher was amazing. That was the only good part. The food was horrible and highly processed. They say they have options for vegans, vegetarian and lactose, free people but they have very little or none. The counselors were very uncaring about the students needs, they didn’t get my needs met I had accommodations, and they were not met. The other staff were very rude and talk behind students backs with other students or staff. I was told before I came to job corps that if I graduated from job corps I would get $1,000 for trade and that was a lie I will only be getting $460 after taxes. Job Corp is not run well and doesnt keep their word on anything it is a very distinction company. Before I left I was verbally assaulted by staff. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone."
