"Woke up middle of the night to no heat. I called at 8 am on Friday morning and let the person in the office at Alternative Aire know. I had already tried a few things, so I knew it wasn't an electric power issue. By 9:00 am a technician was at my door, checked the gas-pack, and identified the problem. By 1 pm, they had checked the warranty, checked to be sure they had the needed part in stock, and someone was at my house to do the replacement. I realize that during a time like a storm, they may be much busier... and there are times when a spare part has to be ordered. But I was so impressed with the skill of the technician identifying the problem (and explaining it to me in detail), and efficiency in getting it repaired, when it was possible. Thank you!"

"We had 4 companies make estimates. We asked for estimates for a complete replacement of our heat pump and air handler, plus for a mini split. Alternative Aire was the last company to visit. I was at a doctor's appointment and when I got home there were three Alternative Aire trucks in my driveway. My wife, Sandy, was shivering in the driveway while chatting with three guys. As I approached she introduced me and said, "Guess what? These guys examined the system and have fixed it." They saw burned out wires in the air handler and decided to clean them, splice them and put them back together to see what would happen. When they did, the system fired right up and brought the temperature up to 70 in just a few minutes. Once running, they examined the inside and outside units and found only one other issue (the frost control board) which needed replacement. Their estimate was about $500 and said they would come back the next day and replace that part, along with a new circuit breaker box for about $200. They came the next morning, replaced the frost control board and then said they had found an older circuit breaker box in their warehouse and would not charge us for it. ("What?" we thought! Yikes... super nice guys who just want to help their customer fix something.) The other companies seemed more focused on replacing a system. Our total out of pocket is around $400 vs no less than $6,000 for a mini split or $10,000+ for a new forced air system. Bravo Alternative Aire. "I learned about Alternative Aire from reading Indy Week’s “Best in the Triangle.” After looking at other online reviews and their website, I decided to seek a quote. Of the four HVAC companies I contacted for quotes, I thought they were the most responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Not only that, but they offered the best value in terms of pricing and warranty for a new heat pump. They were also the only company I contacted who took the time to research which heat pumps qualified for the energy tax credit and rebates. Scott was very patient in answering my questions via phone and email, helping me to understand the different systems and installation process better. Danny, who came out for the estimate, was also very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable and took time to answer my questions. Mike and the other installation crew were very efficient in installing the new system and were able to get it done in just under a day. I was glad Alternative Aire could work me in a little more quickly since my system unexpectedly gave out in mid summer. They even offered to provide temporary cooling solutions until they could fit me in. It’s been several months since the installation, and I’ve been enjoying my new heat pump system. My energy bills are significantly lower now. I highly recommend Alternative Aire!"

"I had a new HVAC system installed and everything with that part of the job was on time and efficient. After a consult they provided 5 options with related costs and the benefits of each. Where I was really impressed was with the responsiveness in communication throughout, especially for several months after their part of the work was done, and while I was trying to get Dominion Energy to connect my gas line. Alternative Aire provided suggestions to help expedite that job, gave me the contact info for someone else at Dominion to try, and once it was finally done they helped me rework a rebate so it was valid and I could recoup some funds. Just having a sounding board during that time, while I was in a wilderness as to how to get movement and the job complete, was extremely appreciated.
