Salon 70

"This is the worst haircut experience of my life…and it was just for my bangs to be trimmed. In what was only a 10-minute total interaction, the stylist, Anna, was beyond rude. I made an appointment in advance for my bangs to be trimmed. When asked by the receptionist over the phone if I wanted a full haircut, I reiterated I just wanted my bangs trimmed as they’ve grown out a bit since my last appointment. She understood and we continued with the booking. When I came in today, they put me to get my hair washed, which was fine with me as that’s standard pre-cut and I needed my hair washed. As soon as my hair was washed, I was brought to Anna’s chair for my trim, which is when the lack of professionalism and complete disrespect of this salon became very clear. As soon as I say (again) that I just want my bangs trimmed, she becomes short with me and asks, “then why did we wash your hair if you just wanted your bangs trimmed?” I explained I was due for a wash anyway and happy when they offered to wash my hair (even though that’s already a pre-cut standard…even if you just want your bangs trimmed.) She preceded to cut my bangs and when I asked her to cut them a bit more, she became aggravated. She then only blow dried my bangs and told me that I’m all set, even though the rest of my hair was sopping wet from my wash. She gets even more agitated and tells me “I’m so confused, what do you want??” I explain again that my hair is wet and I don’t want to go outside in 30 degree temperature with wet hair, something I didn’t think I’d have to explain to a “professional.” She then hurriedly blow dries the rest of my hair and tells me I’m done again. My hair is still damp. Perplexed, I emphasize that I do not want to leave the salon with wet hair…it is 30 degrees outside…it is the middle of December…it is raining. Her frustration escalates and she pushes the hair dryer toward me and asks if I just want to finish the job since I am taking too much time and she has another client waiting (!!!!). At this point, I am beyond upset at her 1) lack of humanity by thinking it was okay to send me outside with wet hair in winter and 2) unprofessionalism for all of the above. I tell her, I would like her to finish the job. Perplexed, I ask how am I taking up too much of her time and holding up her next client when 1) I am a paying client who made an appointment. 2) Clearly, she misunderstood that I wanted a full haircut/ blow dry (which takes an hour) so my 10-minute bangs trim with blow dry shouldn’t have been an issue. When I go to pay, they try to charge me $45, which is the cost of a FULL haircut. Again, I only came in today for my bangs to be trimmed. The receptionist finally agreed to charge me $20 for the job. For what was supposed to be a simple bangs trim, this experience was beyond frustrating due to Anna’s complete unprofessionalism. Will not return."
