"Shaw has been working on my wife's 2005 Subaru since we moved here last year. Good turn around time and very communicative. He is an honest mechanic that actually knows his stuff. We have spent thousands of dollars in other shops with "mechanics" who didn't know what they were doing and charged us for work that we didn't need. Shaw always knows exactly what is wrong and wont recommend unnecessary work to be done. His prices are good and he warranty's his work on your car. If you're around Amityville/Copiague area I highly recommend that you stop in, even for just an inspection. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. He just inspected my Oldsmobile and I will be returning to him for all work I need done."

"I needed to get the state inspection done and Shaw Auto was the only place that did it and was near enough my work for me to drop my car off and walk. Shaw called me about an hour later to let me know a bunch of repairs needed to be done. He gave me very fair prices and was able to get them all done before my work day was over. When I went to pick it up, he showed me all the parts he had to replace. I’ve been looking for a while for a one stop shop and a mechanic that I can trust and I finally found it."

"He is a good mechanic however his prices are quite higher than most mechanics. If you have the money I recommend the place but if you want to save some bucks I recommend you do a quote in at least 3 other places near you."

"I had, what I thought would have been a simple fix, my hood would not close due to the lever damaged inside the cabin which releases the beginning of the hood mechanism. I went to several stores to see if they had the particular lever for my vehicle (2000 Mercury Grand Marquis) rather old but still in good working condition, every place I went they did not carry the part or they had a simulation but not the original. Gladly, I did not buy the part which was cheaply made and the only guarantee was to be unreliable. I went to a few mechanics who did not entertain the business, they put walls in front of me. I remembered, nearby my working place a mechanic which I frequently passed by (Shaw Auto Repair Inc.), thought I take a chance and see what would be the outcome, it was a Saturday and I arrived at Shaw Auto Repair Inc. in the afternoon, I was surprised to be greeted by the owner himself Shaw, he was quick to understand my situation and even more satisfying to educate me in the repair process, Shaw educated me in understanding how critical it is to buy original parts in fact, Shaw will not repair a car unless the parts used or the original made by the manufacturer, everything else he would not guarantee because, his years of experience has thought him and his clients to always utilize original parts. Amazing, not only did I meet an honest Mechanic but one that welcomes my particular situation, he soon made me feel like I had no worries and the problem will be fixed. On Monday I called Shaw and he said he had the part and he told me to bring the car over, so I did and went back to my place in a few hours I went to pick up the car and was totally satisfied with the outcome and quite honestly the price for the repair was very modest. I have to say to all Shaw is an excellent mechanic with outstanding knowledge and my favorite characteristic is his honesty. Thank you Shaw for your persona."
