Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse

"Amazing from start to finish! It was complete mayhem 2 days before Christmas; the waiting area and bar were packed, but the front staff handled the chaos with pure professionalism! Yes we were seated 45 minutes after our reservation time, but we understood how busy they were and were willing to wait for the scrumptious dishes Ichiban is known for. The wait staff were attentive and expeditious with our orders. Chef Joseph, who we learned later is the new owner, was absolutely fantastic and entertaining. We have been going here for 15 of my eldest daughters 30 birthdays and can definitely say this visit was the most fun and entertaining. He kept us engaged the whole time, and he is one hell of a good cook!! I was a bit Leary when I learned it was under new management, but I feel it is just as good if not better than before. Kudos to the entire Ichiban staff, you rocked it!! Thank you chef Joseph, we can't wait until our next meal from this delightful restaurant!"

"Staff was amazing and kind, only wish the food was better... it had almost a chlorine taste at the root of everything. Unfortunately the flavoring and seasonings used to cook didn't add enough to make it fabulous. The tempura chicken and soft shell crab apps were good. Slightly disappointing for spending $200 for 2 people."

"Went for hibachi. Overall, it was pleasant to be there. I enjoyed the waiting area. Hostess and server were really nice. Price includes a lot of food. Fried rice was excellent. HOWEVER. We had reservations, but we were seated about 20 minutes after that time. Service was very slow. I suspect they were understaffed. We were seated in a side room, so we couldn't even watch the show at other tables while we waited. Substitution request was forgotten, and it took a long time for the correct item to be served. There was a produce sticker in my salad. Chef's skills were not as good as one would hope. Another person at our table did not receive the extra rice they requested, and the chef had to go get more. An older woman at the table said that the seating was uncomfortable for her. Except for the fried rice, the food was just okay. I would be willing to go back, but I will try other hibachi places first."

"Food was not as on point as usual, but the atmosphere was top notch. The servers were super friendly but it was the end of the night on Sunday and it took 40 minutes for water, then our table was moved, from a super sticky table to one that wasn't. It was our Christmas party and we enjoyed ourselves but one of the staff (managers?) Came off as a bit...unkind? Maybe she was stressed. I don't know but the chef was great! Just the food was only ok this time. It happens. Drinks were good."
