The Asheville Inn

"We were stopping in our Asheville “home” after spending a few days in SC visiting family that have there. We chose the Asheville Inn because I didn’t even realize that this hotel had been converted - I remember it either being a Rodeway or Motel 6. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the decor is nice. Our room was clean. You can tell that the “new” decor needs a bit of maintaining but it is overall a refreshing change from other budget friendly hotel/motels. Some things haven’t changed much on the West side - this morning we witnessed a couple of folks being arrested in the McDonald’s parking lot across the street, but we never felt unsafe at the inn and the overnight stay was quiet with no smoke smell, which we deeply appreciated after a couple of other stays on our trip. The staff was not present in the office, both at check in and at check out. I called from the parking lot when we arrived and a nice woman asked if she could have a few minutes because her little one was upset, and I said of course. When she let me in she was very pleasant and accommodating. At check out, we left the room and I put the key in the drop off in the office window and then called (no one in the office and the door was locked) and spoke with the man whom I believe is the person mentioned in the other comments/reviews. He was fine with me on the phone - I only had to report that we checked out and left the key. He said thank you twice, it was a bit brief but I didn’t have an issues. Overall, this place is nice and a bit better than your usual budget hotel/motel. I would only say that adding a lamp in the room would be nice - another option besides the round light on the wall. And, maybe some paper cups so that you have an option to microwave hot water for tea or any hot beverages that you may have supplies to make. Lastly, another bath towel, wash cloth, and hand towel instead of 2 of each would be better. I think this is a nice little gem over in an area of Asheville that needs places like these for the budget traveler who wants something different from a Super 8 or Motel 6."

"Lol I am in the process of booking just waiting on an email asking about check in times. I wanna stay based on the hilarious sarcastic responses from the owners! Its too easy to leave fake or unfair reviews even if youve never stayed there (case and point this review). I tend to believe the good reviews more than the bad bc of the insane amount of "Karens" in this world who are never satisfied. This is a small family run inn its unfair to expect a luxury experience when youre paying such reasonable prices calm down kevins and karens or go pay 500 a night to stay at a Ritz somewhere!"

"Are these reviews real?? Location is the only good thing about this inne. My room STUNK of cigarettes so bad that I had to wash everything I brought into the hotel room, including the bag. I even got a headache and left feeling sick. I felt like I was using a prison shower and there was other peoples hair on the walls of the shower. There was a yellow stain on my comforter. Even the guy who checked me in wasn’t pleasant and don’t even believe made eye contact with me. The location is only 10 minutes away from Downtown Asheville. Only good thing."

"We were looking for a cheap place to stay to explore Asheville and this was a nice find. Our room needed a little maintenance - broken lamps and a wonky bathroom door. The furniture was stained but the sheets and bathroom were clean. I live the room vibes. The rooms are themed and decorated well. The inn was fairly quiet. No safety concerns. The staff were nice. My only issue was the wifi. It was PAINFULLY slow."

"The room was great but there was an overwhelming smell of nicotine. Like people have been booking this room just to vape. Anyway, it was spacious, prepared well, it had a large TV, but the bathroom was very small, but it was clean, just as the whole room was. Otherwise, it was easy to check in, and the lady behind the desk was very friendly. The location is fantastic! There are many restaurants and stores to go to. Overall l, the one-night say we had was very good."
