"I ended up trying this spot because of an event and it's become one of my favorite spots for delicious Columbian food. The portion size is great for the price and super filling. My absolute favorites are the Hawaiian grilled chicken breast and the fried pork belly skin and guacamole arepa. Absolutely delicious! Check out my full review on Yelp!"

"Welcome to Arepalicious, where my visit was an absolutely delightful experience. The beef and chicken arepas were an incredible introduction to this cuisine for me. However, it was the guava & cheese empanada that truly stole my heart; its flavors were an absolute revelation. Equally impressive was the chicken empanada, offering a burst of deliciousness. The sounds of Spanish music floating down from the ceiling truly breathed life into the entire ambiance, while the vibrant artwork adorning the walls added a visually appealing touch. Notably, the convenience of having an on-site restroom was much appreciated. And last but certainly not least, the host's exceptional hospitality added an extra layer of warmth to my visit. Will visit again"

"A brand new dine-in & to-go place with delicious classic and creative arepas. The place is new and super clean, with some solid modern decor. There’s seating all through, with a counter by the window and tables and chairs. You can order your food to go, or eat in and they’ll bring the food to your table. The staff is super friendly, eager to recommend some things from the menu and just to chat. The food is the real star here. I ordered the arepa sampler which had three different arepas to try out their styles. All three were really good, perfectly cooked, and super flavorful. The arepa itself was thick and fully and delicious, and the toppings worked really well together. On another visit, I had the Steak Arepa Cone which was absolutely incredible. It’s a deep fried arepa that’s actually cone shaped, and the dough itself was perfectly made. It’s filled with really flavorful and perfectly cooked steak, and covered in a really good sauce. It was really creative and delicious, a great experience overall, and highly recommended. Check it out if you’re in the neighborhood!"

"I visited Colombia in 2022, so I was very excited to reminisce about that trip with some good cuisine. Thankfully Arepalicious did not disappoint. I arrived to street parking in a quaint little neighborhood on a Monday afternoon. When I entered I was greeted by the vibrant mural/wallpaper (not sure) of the bright colors of the walled city. The shop was empty and the lovely Anahis, was taking a moment to have lunch. She immediately greeted me and spent quite sometime helping me figure out what I wanted. At the time they were only open for a week and a half so we had a little learning curve moment together that we laughed about. I ultimately went with... GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST w/ Sweet Plantain, Rice, Beans & Arepita. PECHUGA A LA PLANCHA Con Maduros, Arroz, Frijoles y Arepita. I also purchased a Colombian soda and chicken empanada to try while I waited. There was a small wait, as the food is made to order. As I waited I took in all the different menu offerings displayed on the digital menus and the traditional Colombian snacks and treats available to purchase at the counter. My traditional Colombian soda was cold and refreshing and brought right back to Cartagena. My chicken empanada was fresh, well seasoned and NOT dry. Thankfully because sometimes that can be the case. The accompanying green hot sauce was amazing. You should seriously consider putting that "ish" on everything. My food came out piping hot (the way I prefer it). The portion size was large and the flavor was amazing. Both the chicken and the beans were so well seasoned. The chicken was grilled but extremely juicy. The mini Arepa was the perfect addition to soak up all the juices and seasoning from the chicken and the ripe sweet plantains balanced the entire meal nicely. I finished up and was extremely full and more than happily satisfied. Thank you to the very lovely and pleasant Anahis, who was very accommodating as I unintentionally interrupted her lunch. Arepalicious Express is a great little escape for some good Colombian cuisine Just A Note: - Closed on Tuesdays -They have a full menu of dishes from breakfast, traditional plates and desserts to some re-imagined items like Arepacones... I'm very interested in trying these when I return."
