Olum's - Appliances 5775 Bridge Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057

"Received a dishwasher on July 5th 2023. It was inoperable on day one. Receiving a code I30. Was told I had to work thru warranty . its been over 6 months as of today 1/17/2024, It's been a nightmare working thru this. Dishwasher has been deemed defective and replacement will be required. Still no replacement to date. Been on with the warranty company multiple times wasting an hour each time. When I approached Olums I was told "they will fix it and make it a good as new:" That has not happened. I do not agree with their policy a defective unit on day one should be a warranty call. It sounds like the warranty company (Frigidaire) is partly responsible for this, but also would warn others of what they might expect if they purchase a similar item from OLUMS. Needless to say I will not be back as OLUMS washed their hands of this from day one."

Very responsive to emails/phone calls, which became especially important when needing product support. Prices comparable to major retailers and sales/rebates make them even more competitive. "Christopher Manzer which is the store manager I believe out of E. Syracuse location, he was wonderful, taking the time with me, finding something that would work for us within in our budget. Customer Service alone is so important in this crazy time, which you do not get anymore unfortunately but not with Christopher he was patient with me and spent as much time as he needed, while I was at work myself trying to handle trying to buy a refrigerator that I had just died on us the day before. Chris had one delivered to my home in 2 days. The communication between us and the driver was easy. Delivery was quick and I will definitely be doing more business with this company again .. we need more Christopher’s out there for sure."

"A few days ago I visited the Olum's store in East Syracuse, NY and purchased a new high end Jen-Air dishwasher, which was in stock. The sale was completed, payment made and delivery/installation scheduled, so at this point there is an implied contract between me the purchaser, and Olum's the seller. I went about the rest of the day running errands, and later that day the salesperson called to say that they "could not and would not" honor the sale for the item I purchased. Keep in mind that this was an "In Stock Item" on display on their showroom floor, with a very visible price tag present and anyone that visited the store could have seen and purchased the item for the price I paid. There was some back and forth discussion between myself and the salesperson regarding this, with me informing him that we essentially had a mutual contract for the sale. The salesperson would not budge on the fact that Olum's was NOT going to honor their end of the deal, so I asked to speak with the manager. I was informed that the manager was not available, and since it was late in the day I then asked for the salesperson to discuss this with the manager conveying my complete dissatisfaction regarding this, and again reminded him that we essentially have a contract for the sale of the item. It was left that he would discuss this with his manager the next day and call me back. The following day I did receive that call back, with the salesperson stating that Olum's would not budge on there choice to not honor their end of the sale. I again asked to speak with the manager, and was promptly told he was not available. I was informed that my choices were to either get a full refund, or to accept delivery of a lesser quality Jen-Air dishwasher, at the same price I had paid for the high end one I originally purchased. I told the salesperson again, I wanted the original deal to be honored, and that was promptly refused again. At this point I decided that this establishment is not worthy of my business and informed the salesperson I would be down to the store shortly for my refund. When I arrived at the store I again asked to speak with the manager, and got the same not available line. Do you see the pattern here? I collected my refund and left. So sad that this business chose to take such a low road, and to miss treat a customer in this way. This really seems to present like a bait and switch scam, with the intent of delivering a lesser quality item for the price of the high end item. My best advice on dealing with this business, to paraphrase a major movie "RUN FOREST RUN"."
