"Friendly and homey atmosphere, quick and personalized service. Food cooked deliciously to order. Omelets are filled to the brim with fresh veggies! I had a feta cheese, potato, and fresh spinach omelet with hearty bacon on the side. We come here regularly and it is our favorite Breakfast Diner. The bathrooms are impeccably clean. Keep up the great work!!"

"I can't say enough great things about this long time Old Forge landmark restaurant! We had breakfast here the two out of three mornings we were in Old Forge. Why not the third morning you say?, because they are closed Tuesdays otherwise we would have been there! The staff make this place fun and the food is great! The eggs always cooked exactly how you ask and the bacon is in my opinion done perfectly, crispy without being overdone! Home fries decent, homemade Italian bread toast and good coffee! I skipped the pancake this trip however I remember it being huge and delicious last trip back in 2017! Old Forge locals are friendly and Walt's is a great place to sit at the counter and visit with some! We met a lady there today who lived her whole life in this town and her relatives go back to pretty much the start of Old Forge back in the 1800's, so cool to talk with her! The town's early history began in 1798 apparently."

"An authentic hometown styled diner with all you can expect. Both bar seating and table service for whichever you are looking for. Staff were pleasent, the food was delicious and not expensive. Exactly what you would be looking for by going to a place called "Walt's Diner""

"This is your classic little greasy spoon type of breakfast and lunch cafe. Locals eat there. Locals work there, and it is just average. The thing that set me over the top was when I asked for a glass of water....and was told we only have bottles... and she would give me one, except I was charged.....so are you making money as a restaurant or as a 7/11! $22.00 for just one person for breakfast is over the top for this sleeping little hamlet."

"It seems nowadays that anything other than a 5 is a negative review. I enjoyed eating here but I want to be honest with my review. The Male Chef was complaining about something being left outside in the rain and getting rude and you can see him while you’re eating, it was a little awkward. The staff all left the building completely while our party of three and a couple were eating. They all went outside to smoke. We finished and waited awhile for the server to come but we had to stand up and wait at the counter for bit. The waitress was very kind and bubbly. The atmosphere is good, it’s a clean spot and well organized. Seems like a good classic diner. The signs on the walls are kind of funny but a little tacky I imagine for some. The food was a middle of the road diner style food. I ate all of my steak, prices were fair, the food came out extremely quick. Perhaps the staff heading outside to smoke and the ached complaining is not normal, maybe they just didn’t have their full on “professional persona” because there were only two parties eating. These are the things we didn’t like but I’d absolutely return and probably will many times."
