Keyes' Pancake House

"Great place in Old Forge. Stopped for breakfast on our way home from our snowmobile trip. All are welcome, as noted on the board. As a note, there are no split checks. This place has that local diner feel, which I always like. Service was great as soon as we walked in. They have specials. I opted to the heart attack bowl (breakfast style garbage plate if you know anything about that). Very good. Had the bloody mary to go with it. My friends all tried the different number specials. They enjoyed it as well. Reasonable prices. Parking was good. We had two trailers and there was enough room in the area for them. Stop in and enjoy!"

"We had a really great time and had excellent service on a fairly busy morning. Clean bright dining room. Love the rustic charm and remember the pancakes from 50 years ago as just as big and delicious. Lots of personality. Had Buckwheat short stack and eggs a #1 and a side of sausage -delicious. ADK at its best with great bottomless coffee"

"I was just looking online for the opening time and saw some of the reviews and feel I need to write one as well. Granted I have not gone yet on this vacation. I go to Keyes every year for the one week I’m in Old Forge for vacation. I have been visiting this restaurant for at least 20 years and I absolutely love this place. My family makes it a point to go at least 3 or more times during our vacation. Their pricing is very reasonable especially for such a large vacation spot. Food is always great with something on the menu for everyone. They allow multiple substitutions which I have seen as my father had multiple food issues due to medical problems and they were very accommodating. Once in awhile you may have a small wait to be seated or for your food. This is expected and should be understood as this restaurant is extremely busy especially in the summer months so if your in a rush take this into account but keep in mind you may miss out on one of Old Forges best breakfast places. I strongly encourage everyone to try them out."

"We waited 55 minutes (from the time we ordered) for two kid pancakes, an order of French toast (pictured - two dry pieces for $9.50), a stack of pancakes, and eggs and toast, all of which was luke-warm at best. The toast didn’t arrive for another 15 minutes (after we reminded her about it twice more) and was also cold. The pancakes were burnt on one side. Our waitress never updated us on a wait time or apologized for the delay, and tables who ordered after us were getting their food before we did. She clearly didn’t want to be at there, and it showed. We’re pretty easy-going but will never return - it’s hard to think of a worse dining experience."

"We beat the crowd so well that we got there before all but one of the servers who seemed like a veteran of the business. She was polite and professional. My biggest disappointment was the generic taste of the food. As basic as it can get. The lumberjack came with dry toast, dry sausage, pre scrambled eggs from the distributor like egg-beaters and pancakes that got cold before I could open a few butter packets. (It took 10 minutes to open a few)."
