Duke Children's Evaluation Center

Duke Children's Evaluation Center, located at 2608 Erwin Road in Durham, North Carolina, is a health institution dedicated to providing expert pediatric care for children and young adults up to age 25. Our team of specialists, including psychiatrists and social workers, offers a family-centered environment to address behavioral health needs in a timely manner.

Before visiting our center, please review our visitor guidelines to ensure everyone's safety. A referral from a Duke provider is required for evaluation and treatment at our facility. Upon arrival, you will meet with one of our providers for an assessment, which may include a conversation interview and evaluation to determine the best course of action for your child's care.

We offer individual, family, and group therapy sessions, as well as short-term treatments for various needs. If long-term care is required, we can refer you to other providers or specialists within Duke Health or the community. Our goal is to provide equal access to all patients, offering free interpreter services for those who prefer to communicate in a language other than English.

Free parking is available for patients in the parking deck behind the Pavilion East building. For those using public transportation, GoDurham and GoTriangle bus routes provide access to the center, with nearby stops at Erwin Rd at Downing St and Erwin Rd at Research Dr. Duke Transit also offers free bus service to the Duke University Medical Center campus for students, employees, patients, and visitors.
