"Attempted to verify insurance coverage with this office and was told they accepted my insurance but would not give me any further information until I scheduled an appointment for my husband and myself and came in . I told Greg , who stated he was the office mgr , that I had spoke to another office in Ellijay that was able to verify coverage over the phone . He said “ that’s probably who you should go to then.” I wanted to stay local but apparently with this attitude they don’t need or want any further clients . I am an RN and have worked with professionals throughout my career. I was astounded at this offices communication. Just to clarify Greg , after reading your response to the above post . I didn’t have issues with the office in Ellijay, they verified and gave me my expected costs over the phone .I just preferred to stay local if possible with my eye care . My previous provider’s coverage had decreased significantly so it was no longer affordable. In todays medical environment the consumer has a right to know within reason the cost of care in advance . Budgeting and planning should be expected and welcomed. I didn’t see an avenue to answer you privately or I would have ."

"I was visiting from out of town with my family and one of the screws popped out of my prescription sunglasses. I turned into Bear Eye Care hoping that they could replace the screw so I could have my sunglasses for the remainder of our vacation. They repaired my sunglasses within a few minutes and when I asked what I owed, they told me that I didn't owe anything. I didn't go there with the expectation of free service, nor did I deserve it. I thanked them for the assistance and continued on my family vacation. What made a lasting impression on me was this - I went in to Bear Eye Care hoping to pay a fair price, but partially expecting to pay an inflated price as it would have been easy to take advantage of me in that situation. Not only did they demonstrate great integrity by not taking advantage of my circumstances, they exhibited great generosity by helping me without requesting compensation for an act they deemed small, but a big deal to me. Imagine how they'd help your vision."

"I have used Bear for several eye exams and to purchase my glasses as well . I found that the office is very clean, well organized. The staff greeted me in a professional manner . Dr Rimmer is in tune with your health and makes every effort to exceed your expectations by answering all your questions. I did not feel rushed and know that my exam was the best that I could have gotten anywhere. I must admit I was absent , very late for my appointment, but remembered my experience and returned. I read several other reviews. I would rather honestly about my eye health than not knowing. I might also add that the quality of her glasses is exceptional.
