The Montessori School of Raleigh: Middle & Upper School

"My daughter has been a Montessori student she was a toddler, and she just completed 7th grade at the Montessori School of Raleigh Middle School. I've been blown away with the challenging curriculum. The educators are wise and know how to engage her in a way that she LOVES school and enjoys the work. The work is meaningful and has purpose. For example, instead of memorizing dates and events, she is reading first-person accounts from a variety of points-of-view of historical events so she understands the 360 degree view of what took place. Then they have meaningful discussion and debates in the classroom about the events. I didn't have this type of teaching until my freshman year in COLLEGE. MSR also does a great job of creating a well-rounded person. My daughter is mastering time management and study skills, doing solo and collaborative work, learning how to conduct detailed research, and preparing comprehensive research projects. MSR Middle School is so much more than I expected, and I can't wait for the IB program in Upper School. She will be well prepared for college and life."
