"Nice clean shelter with a decent water source especially during a drought. There was a nice covered area for rainy days and plenty of spots outside the shelter for tents and hammocks. The privy was as nice as can be expected in the wilderness. Bear bag cables appeared to have been recently repaired."

"Did the 14.5 mile hike from Hogpen to Unicoi Gap. A beautiful section of the AT that doesn't see as much foot traffic as some of the more popular sections. No grand vistas but you will have a peaceful, quiet walk in the woods."

"This site is in good shape and there are multiple fire pits. The view is great and I found some nice spots to hang my hammock. The water source was a slight walk and very small."

"Our last stop on our section hike. Shelter had alot of mice in it but we sleep in tents anyways so it didn't bother up. We were in it while making dinner. Lots of room for tents. If I remember correctly there was a privy. Northbound climb crosses a couple of " Boulder fields""
