"Kids been going here for years. Recently they've become very unprofessional and only care about money. They booked several appointments without my knowledge and charged missed appointment fees. They x-ray machine never work I have been going here for all my kids life and they don’t have many of the X-rays they took I missed time from work and education resulting in long term damage to my kids dental health ! They do not care about your kids dental health only about money!"

While service costs are high, they are less than in the community, & the benefit is worth the cost. There are other, less costly clinics available in the school, & a 24 hr emergency clinic if needed. "Choosing the UAB School of Dentistry is one of the best decisions I've ever made! I have extensive dental work to be done, for which the cost estimate at a private dentist totalled over $50,000. The total at UAB is just under $10,000. So far, I've had 5 crowns, two root canals and a few other things. My student, Tara, is exceptional. She is calm, patient, gives detailed explanations that even I can understand, texts me, keeps in touch, and her professors are excellent and follow every procedure. I can call or text her any time I need her. She is far less painful than my community dentists were. So you might wonder why only 4 stars? First, there is almost no parking. I park up in Homewood and Uber down to the school and back. Second, their billing department SUCKS. My insurance is out of network, but pays very well, and at least half of any procedure... Three months AFTER my first visit, I had gotten 3 EOBs from the insurance, saying they had paid (over $2000), but the billing department hadn't posted it. They told me various things: "We probably have it, but it just hasn't posted yet." "I'll have my supervisor look into it." "Well sometimes it takes a while for insurance to pay." They finally got the BIG BOSS to figure it out, but this was after I suggested they might need to purchase computers to make posting checks quicker, and then asked them if they need me to come to work for the business office to post their backlog. Anyway, the great price and the superb dental care are worth my hassle with the business office."
