"Purchased their Hangout Footrest TWICE and TWICE it was delivered in a damaged box; the first was poorly packaged, probably by a 5-year old, and the step was damaged so I sent it back to The Swivel Shop which markets and sells the step but does not ship the step. The step is shipped directly from Stand Up Vans. The second step I ordered directly from Stand Up Vans and even called and talked directly to who I believe was the owner and told him about the packaging and damage and asked if I order directly from them can they ensure it will be packaged well so it makes it without damage. Well, it was packaged better and the hinge pieces were separated so they didn’t flop around and damage everything they came in contact with as the first one did; however, the step was on the bottom and poorly padded and the powder coating on the corner of the step that the box had been torn open during shipping is damaged. I’m a former business owner and retired Navy SEAL and I know poor quality and a lack of attention to detail when I see it. I like the step and I purchased it because it’s built in the US and it’s build well but the delivery of the product needs a greater amount of attention especially for a product that costs almost $400 w/shipping. I recommend firing whomever the person is who packages Stand Up’s products; however, subordinates are only as good as their leaders."
