Humane Society's Mountain is a compassionate institution located at 1620 U.S. 76, Hiawassee, Georgia, United States. Our store offers a variety of products for pets and pet owners, with all profits going towards our life-saving mission of rescuing unwanted and homeless animals in Towns and Union counties.

We believe in the power of love for animals, as Anatole France once said, "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened." If you are considering adopting a cat, please bring a small animal carrier, or you can purchase one at the time of adoption from the Mountain Shelter. For dog adoptions, please bring a collar and leash, which are also available for purchase.

In addition to our store, we work closely with Mountain Emergency Animal Center, Big Bear Veterinary Clinic, Nottely Oaks Animal Hospital, Hiawassee Animal Hospital, Tri-State Veterinary Clinic, Union County Animal Control, Towns County Sheriff’s Office, Safe Pet Project, Cast Off Pet Rescue, and provide information on toxic and non-toxic plants through the ASPCA Poison Control hotline.

We appreciate any donations, whether monthly or one-time, to support our efforts in giving animals a second chance at a loving home. Thank you for your support in helping us make a difference in the lives of animals in need.

"Nice,my wife and I do enjoy finding clothes,and kitchen Ware's,like george foreman grills,and coffee maker, utensils (knives,forks, spoons)book bags in great shape, Evan hardware items,compared to hardware stores,like lowes, home depot, and stores like Walmart,the savings is awesome,and when your on a fixed income as we get older every penny counts,,and they bring help to animal's,they just finished(not that I'm a cat fan,)with all the cat's and kittens that where up for adoption, everyone of them was adopted to kind home's,, they are there for the animal's in a great way,"
