"Honestly I feel like most of the reviews come from people like us, who rode the train, got hungry and stopped at the first restaurant they saw. Service was quick so you could enjoy the stop and check out the other shops around the train station. The bbq is okay. It’s nothing to write home about. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the best food I’ve ever had either."

"Of course all of this is a matter of opinion, but my husband and I both thought this place was just mediocore. The ribs had entirely too much sauce on them. It was like eating sauce and no meat. I really liked the potato salad because I like mine with a lot of mustard. The toast was good, but you can't really mess toast up, unless you burn it. The mac n cheese wasn't really good and the brunswick stew was mostly tomato juice and was too sweet. We were the only people in there except a few coming in for takeout orders. They do have a TV and had a football game playing. The server was friendly. It wasn't a waste of money, but we wouldn't go back. Again, only our opinions. Everyone's tastebuds are different."

"I’m in the area because of the Blue Ridge Railway. State Line BBQ was less crowded than the other eateries nearby and I’m so glad that I came! It super close to the train entrance and the food was filling & delicious. I had the ribs with mac&cheese and potato salad. Teresa was awesome and made me feel welcomed! Since I’m on a time crunch, I was pleased that my food came out in a timely manner and I was able to enjoy it. I had a great experience here and definitely recommend it!"

"You've got to try this! Best value for your buck in all of Blue Ridge and McCaysville for BBQ. Ordered the special which consist of a BBQ sandwich, coleslaw and a drink for $9.99. Heaping meat on this sandwich. Very large sandwich. Couldn't eat but half of it. Ordered a side of tots for $2.99 and got a basket full. Enough for 2 to eat. Really enjoyed the food. Our server was the sweetest! Loved the signage inside. We will definitely be back!"

"We went whitewater rafting and were famished, so we got a recommendation from a local to check this place out. Thankfully, we went during the Friday afternoon lull before dinner. We heard that sometimes they sell out! Service was quick and efficient and the food was very good! Not the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it’s in the top few. We loved the tater tots and the stew! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the music as well, and spent some time exploring the town on the Tennessee and Georgia border!"
