"Spent $695.48 for a Stihl KM131R with edger attachment and premixed fuel on 10/07/23, filled it up with fuel that afternoon, pulled on the cord for an hour without it trying to start. Brought it back to Hiawassee Hardware to swap out or return it, was told I’d have to leave it for their Stihl rep to troubleshoot it on Monday. Finally one of their employees tried starting it for another 20 minutes without success. I asked if the item could be returned or exchanged, and was told NO, I’d have to leave it for a warranty repair. I explained that I wasn’t going to travel an hour to pick up a new defective product after they repair it. I wouldn’t buy a shovel from them, much less anything of value. They obviously don’t stand behind what they sell."
"We went to Hiawassee Hardware because we had a plumbing emergency (broken water line). One of the employees named David quickly helped us find the repair items needed. The store is well organized and the prices were reasonable too. We were in and out quickly and able to repair our water line in no time."
