"So over 3 years ago I had an appointment with dr Baum and never went back. In my paperwork I stated how my mom had cervical cancer and my grandmother on my moms side had ovarian cancer. I checked with my mom who knows our family history better than I do and I was correct and when I told him the day of my exam he proceeded to say that they were too young and that that’s impossible. But nowadays anything is possible and people get things younger and younger. Then he looked over my paperwork and saw that I was depressed and proceeded to tell me that if I lost weight that I wouldn’t be anymore. Didn’t even ask me why I was depressed just assumed it was over my weight. The CMA in the room at the times jaw dropped when he said that. And you’d think that would’ve been enough for me to get up and leave while I sat there in shock as he did my exam. After he did my exam said everything looks great and sent me to a breast doctor that was awesome and called me every day until I went which was nice that he wasn’t arrogant for that part but should’ve showed me that kindness during my appointment but didn’t. I was hesitant about writing a review at all but considering he could’ve been the one to deliver my son (which I’m so thankful he wasn’t) I figured I should finally share that experience that I’m still scarred from. He owes me an apology I probably won’t ever get and that’s fine. I wish I could say that that was my last time at his office but I went back for a follow up that October to discuss my blood pressure which is much better now and we talked about my PCOS which birth control and metformin are not the only options for. I found out that taking Ovasitol, doing a gluten and dairy free diet, and slow workouts like walking around the block is the best way to help with that and no doctor has ever told me that. And when I confirmed what I new about my family history dr Baum still insisted that I was wrong, but how could I be wrong about my OWN family history?! My husband heard him in the hallway the night my son was born and said he’s still arrogant and smug like he knows everything when he talks. I just want dr Baum to understand how much he hurt my feelings and the next obgyn I went to was a completely different experience and I cried for an hour because of the kindness everyone at that office has shown me and even though they couldn’t deliver my son they actually called the entire time to make sure I was okay and to see how everything was going. Dr Baum came so highly recommended and that’s why I was surprised this whole experience happened. Just because your a doctor doesn’t make you God and does t give your the right to act like that towards any patient but judging by these reviews he’s apparently much nicer to other people. I don’t understand what happened with me that he couldn’t nice...for some reason I wish I knew why everything went the way it did...sorry for the long review. Just needed to share my story so he doesn’t think it’s okay to act like that towards anyone else."
