Summit School at Nyack

"I attended the summit school as a resident for my senior year and graduated on time in 2012. I came here lost, depressed and anxious and didn’t think I would be able to graduate on time. The summit school helped save my life. I had amazing teachers and formed friends here that helped me feel a part of and less alone. I am so grateful I made the choice to go here and look back on my time here with fond memories. The only down side to being a resident was there really is a mixed bag of student and some had more problems than others... I did catch a few girls stealing from others including me in the residential living space."

"My name is Michael Cama, Im from Staten Island , i came here Jan or Feb of1996 it was a great community . The staff was great. I was shown a lot of love , staff cared . At 36 i wish i could go back and live that time again . School was very good , small classrooms , lots of induvidual help. Caring teachers. As i look back the school was excellent and actually gave me good memories that i have remembered for the rest of my life. I remember staff members such as Bill Day , Gina , Pete , Derick Makuchin, Rob Lite, Johnny Mack, Joe ( he wrestled in H.S. ) , Mikee Botz.I was a short time in Dolphins cottage and the remainder in Wings."

"Oh summit..... Ive been going here for a while and when I say awhile I mean 5 years. I must say at first this school gave me a bad vibe. But then I started to open up and the teachers here are great. They help you become the person you want..of course I mean in a positive way... They encourage you and go out of their way to make sure you become successful. I've become real close with a few staff and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be the person I am now. They taught me to be positive. Before I was very self conscious and a lot of negativity was brought upon myself and I was very insecure about myself. But now I'm proud to say I have become more intelligent and before summit I could never say to myself " I can do it" because I didn't feel like I could. But now I can and I will try my very best to become the person I want to be and should be and am. I will be successful if I keep doing what I'm supposed to do. Thanks to Summit I Am The Person I Am Now!"
