"Our 7 month experience at Riverview at Nyack has been overwhelmingly negative, with issues including poor communication, lack of accountability, constant repairs, and inadequate security. The apartment images circulating the internet are nothing but a fantasy. Water shutdown: Since our move, there have been 10 water shutdowns. Residents are informed of shutdowns as they are occurring. These shutdowns have occurred within the same week and can last up to 5 hours. After the water comes back on there are changes to the water color, temperature and pressure. It can take up to a day or two for the water to go back to “normal”. Parking issues: Assigned resident parking spots may be occupied by outside contractor cars without notice. The complex lacks designated areas for guests/outside contractors which also leads to double parking in the one-way lane which is shared with pedestrians. Courtyard: Residents with ESA/Service Animals are not allowed to walkthrough the courtyard. This leads dog owners to walk in the one-way lane. Recycling: The single recycling bin in the designated area is consistently full. It is impossible to recycle. Service requests: We have had three service requests submitted for our apartment. The issues we experienced were no heat and a malfunctioning washer machine. Maintenance informed us that a piece that controls the heat was rusty and had been ripped off. After “fixing it” we were informed that we were unable to control the heat in our apartment. When temperatures were at 63° this past week we had to turn on our AC. Our apartment reached 80° in December! We submitted a service request for our washer machine because it was only releasing hot water. Maintenance informed us that previous maintenance had incorrectly connected the hot water tube to the cold water tube. It took one month for the washer machine to be fixed. During that time I had to pay out-of-pocket to use the laundry room. Maintenance did graciously cover our laundry one-time. Overall, service requests on the resident portal display inconsistent completion statuses, which leads me to consistently chasing management/maintenance for an update about my requests. Stolen packages: While the front of the buildings do have blink cameras, I was informed that the courtyard cameras are just there for show. This past week I had a Christmas package disappear into thin air. Management was able to identify who bought in my package but mentioned that the resident did not take it. I had to yet again follow up with the management about the status of the investigation. Lastly, there is a noticeable amount of mold on the outside of the building."
