The Kid Stage

"Searching for daycares in the Monroe area I found a brand new home daycare which I thought would be great for my two boys. My boys were one of the first children to sign up for the daycare and within a month and a half, issues were arising with allegations that my youngest child was “scaring” the other children in the daycare. Which led to me being asked to find alternative care. I was also told my son might need daily Early Intervention services, from a therapist that was working in the daycare. The provider was nice enough to give me a contact to another home daycare and I’m so happy he left because he really has advanced in both his speech and socially matured beyond his 2 year old self in just a few weeks after switching!! My oldest child was still allowed to attend the after school program 2 days a week and stay on days he was off school. For months I thought everything was going well but just recently after picking up my child I got a text message saying the owner would call me later about an issue that arose. Obviously, I asked my son what happened, and I wish I had been called about the incident when it happened and not found out from my 4 year old. To my knowledge no incident report was filed and I never received one. I feel this daycare needs a lot of training for every staff member. Especially on how to de-escalate situations with children of all ages. It appears there is a language barrier with a few of the staff, which I believe played a part in what happened to my son. The site appears very professional and looks like an amazing place for your child but I would observe the environment and staff very well before choosing to ensure your child will thrive. I think you were just starting out and was not fully ready to take on multiple children but I hope you have grown and doing better now…I wish you the best!"

"The Kid Stage was a very positive experience for my son prior to joining preschool. I transitioned from a home nanny to The Kid Stage hopeful to have my son experience more interactions with other children (only child) while providing care during my work day. The environment was the right balance of stimulating and calm. Meals provided were excellent - my son loved them and it felt like a family dinner setting if I picked him up late. The staff helped tremendously with potty training too. The owner treated my son as her own when we saw her. She clearly takes her work to heart and this shows. Her hours worked well with my busy and long commute. She was always accommodating."
