Courtyard by Marriott Middletown Goshen

"So u stayed here for my wedding like 11 years ago and the experience was amazing. Well I can’t believe how the experience has changed. There is definitely an overall odor of stale in general and in the rooms. The bistro, even when open looks closed due to lights staying off; empty glass and coffee cups sitting around. The up keep looks obvious that it has not been done. There are cracks in the doors and peeling paint everywhere. Our bathroom when we came; gross. The drain had been closed and I opened it and let water run down and the smell was awful. Thankful it disappeared. There is mold in the bathroom stall. The gym doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in a while and pool looks dirty too. Over all the people are nice and it’s a good location close to the major highways etc. It is just not up to what you would think a courtyard marriott should be. In the past yes and i am understanding of how times changed but this level of neglect is not worth what is being charged."

"Budget friendly hotel if you need to be in the area for a bit. Location is nice because it is walkable to multiple restaurants and short drive to a few different malls and attractions. The pool was a little dirty and I don’t believe the filter was on, and the hot tub was out of order. When we got into our room, the glass to the patio was smudged with greasy prints from the previous visitor and our refrigerator was partially broken. TV remote did not work either. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep, this is perfect for don’t book it looking to take advantage of any of the amenities."

"I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott a few weeks ago for my wedding weekend. I had a room block with 35 rooms booked for guests, plus an after party on the night of my wedding. Throughout the process of getting my room block in order, Kayla was responsive and helpful but the hotel staff was a mess. I had guests calling and the staff told them I didn't have a room block, asked for booking codes that I never got, or flat out would put my guests on hold and never return the calls. They always said they were training and didn't know how to do it. Kayla helped me set up a booking link, which made things much easier but none of my guests received booking confirmations (weird). On the night of check-in, the entire booking system was down and the staff had no idea how to accommodate guests. Check-in was based on an "honor system" basis where we just told the front desk what kind of room we booked and they put us in rooms they *thought* were empty. We originally were given a room that was taken and walked in to dresses and bags in the room. With that being said, the manager was excellent at handling guests. I can imagine how frustrated he was, but he spoke with every guest as if they were top priority. I learned later that the entire staff was brand new, even the manager, and I give him all of the credit for not walking out. We had our after party in the hotel lobby, including the back outdoor area and it was excellent. Really spacious and comfy for guests. Our room (once in our proper suite) was spacious and clean. We loved our room. Overall, the stay was mostly fine but the staff was very disorganized. They need some long term staff members so that people will know what to do."
