"Well everyone, feast your eyes on my $29(!!!) meal of 4 measly pieces of “chicken skewer,” priced at a startling $12(!!!). I was so glad the skewer was in four separate pieces, so I could really taste what $3/bite is like. The answer? Dry, chewy, and overcooked. Like, they slapped it on the grill at 1pm and then again at 5:30pm and then once more at 7:30pm, just for fun. Oh! And lest we forget this $17 “salad” - a pile of shredded kale, pathetically lining the inside of this half-filled bowl. What’s underneath, you ask? Oh, just the equivalent of 3 cherry tomatoes, a few onion slices, and a 1/4 of a cucumber. Let’s make matters worse, shall we? I placed a pickup order, arrived at the restaurant, and greeted the host who said absolutely nothing to me. She went to the back to grab my to-go bag, shoved it in my hand, and turned right back around without a word. What a welcoming, worthwhile establishment! To be clear, I have eaten at the original SoHo location many times when it first opened many years ago and have visited the West Village location multiple times since. I’ve always known JWF to be reliable, tasty, and enjoyable. They need to take a hard look in the mirror at themselves because this is plain shameful, disappointing, and offensive. And in case it wasn’t clear, an ABSOLUTE ripoff. Take your money elsewhere. I certainly will be."
"Great spot for brunch in Williamsburg! The servers were super enthusiastic and welcoming. The shakshuka tasted very fresh and green. The serving size for the poached eggs with halloumi and tomato was extremely small, but it was still delicious."
"Food was just ok. Coffee too. Nothing spectacular, not delicious. The waffles looked better than tasted. Would not come here again, unfortunately. Thought, the staff was nice and so the atmosphere."
"My friend and I came here for breakfast on a Tuesday, and we had such a wonderful experience here!! I have a food allergy to all forms of soy (which is tricky to navigate when eating out), and our waiter was both knowledgeable and accommodating . My friend and I split the fried zucchini , the poached eggs with roasted tomato and halloumi, and the Maya's Breakfast Bowl (which I highly recommend!). Everything was fresh and flavorful, and I also loved their Bianca cocktail. We ate outside and the ambiance was fantastic (we got there at 12:30 with plenty of seating but the rest of the tables filled up by 1pm) . Can't wait to visit again!"
"Came to grab a quick lunch with my partner. Nate was so amazing with engagement, giving great food recommendations and detailed back story on this establishment. We tried the fried zucchini similar to fried pickles if you like fried pickles (we like fried pickles). Nate told us about a spicy sauce which went well with the zucchini. The batter wasn’t to salty if you have any health conditions. I added a little bit more salt to get the kick I needed. The Kale Greek salad was next on our list as we were short on time. The Kale Greek salad has a great taste I recommend adding something extra for filling. We added Fish (Salmon) and Chicken to our salad. They also have happy hour from 3-6 on weekdays so check them out."
