Dr. Terry was so funny and personable, he made me feel completely comfortable and helped me make a plan to take better care of my teeth. He also got a cleaning, X-rays and two fillings done in about 40 mins. It was also very clean, no wait time and affordable compared to some of the other places in NYC. "I stopped going here for two reasons: 1) The dentist didn't believe me when I told him the filling he was doing hurt. I had never had a cavity before, so I had no idea what it was "supposed" to feel like (nothing!). It was awful. I now have to go to a dentist that provides nitrous oxide because I have panic attacks before getting a filling. 2) During my last cleaning at this office, the dental tech told me I have a lot of acid erosion on my back teeth. So she asked me if I was bulimic. When I said no, she INSISTED. "Are you SURE you're not bulimic?" and kept telling me, "It's ok, you don't have to lie, you can tell me!" At least four times. When I remembered this incident recently and told my new dentist, she was HORRIFIED. "She shouldn't have asked you that in the first place," she said. "Besides, your erosion is on the bottom teeth, not the top. It's probably silent reflux." Went to my GP and yep, it is acid reflux. The dentist at BK Family Dental has a gentle demeanor but I will never go back."
