"We have switched to another provider after 20 years. At its peak Advanced Smiles was an amazing practice, great dentist, great staff and great hygienists. Since the pandemic the office has struggled. all the hygienists have left meaning, Dr. Moheb does her own cleanings. A talented dentist, but not a gentle hygienist. Mostly we left because of the aggressive policies imposed by the dentist and enforced by the staff. When our employer provided dental benefit changed dental insurance companies at the new year, there was a lag on the insurance company getting company employees into the system (How do I know that? I am the one at my company that manages the contracts with benefit providers). So while our family was not yet in the system, as I explained multiple times, they could CALL to verify coverage at MetLife Dental. Not good enough for them - they wanted me to prepay for $3000 (cleanings for 3 family members and fillings for a fourth). When I said that we were insured and having been a patient for twenty years that I objected to paying up front for covered procedures they suggested that they would "be happy to provide the documentation to submit the claim myself." Uh, no thanks. Although MetLife resolved the system issue within a week, we no longer wanted to be patients of that practice after two decades of an otherwise happy interactions,"
