The star of the show, however, was an incredible salad that had me hooked from the first bite. The dressing was so divine that I couldn’t resist taking some home—it’s no wonder it’s a standout feature. Beyond the salad, the entire menu lived up to the restaurant’s reputation. Each dish showcased the freshness and quality of their seafood. "Steph our server made the whole night, she was so hospitable, fun, and fantastic at her job. The manager was so kind and helpful in getting us a table, lucky for us only a 15 min wait on a Sunday night. Mussels over Linguine were plentiful and delicious. All 5 of us loved our meals. The Black Whale is by far LBI’s best. Good thing it’s open year round."

Each sip was a parade of perfectly balanced flavors - a melody of sweet and tart, underscored by a complex, fruity bouquet that painted a vivid portrait of the restaurant's nautical ethos. We proceeded with a refreshing salad dressed with a choice of garlic ranch or balsamic vinaigrette. Both dressings provided their unique flair, but it was the balsamic vinaigrette that was truly noteworthy. "Great place all around. Loved the atmosphere and live music. The waitress Steph was the best! I had the Dungeness crab with rice & beans, everything was cooked to perfection. I tried the muddled drink 5x every one was better than the last! The key lime pie is as good as Key West’s! Went back the next day.. lol had the lump crab cakes & the blueberry martini: delicious!"
