Mr Shrimp

"Pictured is the flounder stuffed with crab meat. It tasted great, but the serving size is too small. The chocolate mousse was also good. I've had the salmon stuffed with crab meat previously, which I liked. I also like having the long grain rice as an option for a side. Our server was polite, but the music was a little too loud."

"Not going to lie I was worried that this wouldn’t be good. I just had that feeling but was pleasantly surprised. The grilled tuna wrap with onion straws was a solid dish. The coconut shrimp had a nice crunch to it and the shrimp were cooked just right. The fish and chips also hit the spot. We also tried the penne vodka with shrimp but I would skip that. For dessert the peanut butter chocolate brownie was hard to resist. Try the carrot cake too or the berry pie with ice cream. Not sure they make the desserts fresh but it was good. Overall, solid meal!"

"Visiting Belmar Beach and we decided to eat seafood before headed back home. We saw Mr. Shrimp on TikTok but didn’t know we had to book a reservation on the phone to get seating ( we were walk ins ) anyways the entire empty tables was booked for reservations and they said if we wanted a table we would have to wait 45-1hr but the bar seating is open and it would be full service so we sat at the bar to eat. We proceeded with bar seating and I tell you it was not regrettable— the seafood was worth every bite. Dearly noted next time we will call for a table and we will be eating there again."

"Unfortunately the food here - literally everything - is bad. I would have sent the food back if I had any hope they could fix it or if I ordered something else, it would be good. But when literally 5 separate dishes are all bad, what’s the point? The problem is that whoever is cooking it doesn’t actually know how to prepare the food. Lobster bisque - absolutely flavorless, overcooked lobster, just tastes like salt water. Raw oysters - how do you mess raw oysters up? They served them with way too much brine, and one of the oysters had zero flesh in it. How did they even make it onto the plate for service? Disgraceful. Blackened steak bites - soggy, not crispy at all. It obviously had blackening slices but no salt. A sad version of “blackened” indeed. Grilled salmon - barely grilled, unseasoned salmon. Flavorless steamed vegetables. The mashed potatoes were fine. Snapper Livornese - oh. This was so sad. Absolutely soggy, overcooked, mushy snapper served over risotto surrounded inexplicably by a PUDDLE of juices. Who serves risotto like that? Like in a soup? God, it was offensive. The service was good and my Pepsi was good. The crab dip they serve at the beginning was also fine. Not going back here. They don’t know how to cook."
